      weary coconut:
May I know if TKGS groups you according to ability for Secondary 1?

I have a feeling some with the same-ability students will be grouped together but not all in one class. \"Scattered\" I think.

for MEP, YES. MEP students will be in the last class, 1/7 for 2013.

      Smiggle:
For those who are planning for next year, this info may be of interest to you.

This yr, total number of girls applying for tkgs was 1350 for 280 seats. This shows the popularity of the school. The average cop is 240. The highest t score is 271. I was pretty impressed with the new principal in her direction for the school.
Hi everyone I'm back to share! I think it will help you to gain more knowelge about tkgs. šŸ™‚

It's been 1 year in this school. I think most of you know that we have a new principal. My seniors shared with me about the previous one, and I think, IMO, that the current is a better one. She had agreed and helped us tkgs to turn the CD shelter(bombshelter) into a band practicing room for the band to conduct sectionals. Last time the band had to use a smaller room. Recently the school renovated the general office too. Anyways our school had many things changed this year. I really respected :salute: her (but not sure with the others-I'm sure most are!) I'm not sure about this but she shared that she was once a principal in RJC.

I dunno if its true but I heard that tkgs had once been offered to pair up with Victoria JC and Victoria last time? Correct me if I'm wrong. If yes I think we sadly rejected it.

Welcome all freshees and parents to tkgs! :rahrah:

Ask me or the seniors in the forum questions!~ :please:

    • RE: Music Elective Programme (MEP)

      Dione:
      Hi,

Pardon my ignorance, but if I haven't meet the minimum requirement of MEP (not grade 3 yet), can I still go? Appeal?
I have visited the MOE web and they say that there is some \"audition\"?
Please help, for it is PSLE for me this year and I am very keen on this programme.
I have only started learning instruments in primary 5 (term 3) but I have consistenly achieved quite good results in Music in school.
      Thank you.
      Hello! šŸ˜„
Can you elaborate more on 'achieved quite good results in Music in school'? because MEP students will study deeper for example: Composers in a Particular Era, Intervals, Ornaments, Reading Music Scores,Aural etc.
As a MEP student here,(currently grade 6) i can tell you that they are not easy. šŸ¦† I am here not to discourage you, but to give you some infomation about it. šŸ˜‚
Or... if you are really passionate :please: , No PROBLEMS! šŸ™‚
Why don't you quickly take a grade 3 exam (theory+practical). It is (i think) a must.
But... if you feel that MEP is stressful after you chose it, you can't quit...
      (im sure you'll know this)
BE WISE WITH YOUR CHOICE :celebrate:

    • RE: Secondary School CCA

      Hello Everyone!

I am deciding in between Infocomm Club and Band.
i wished to learn flute by joining band. (2nd instrument)
      on the other hand... šŸ˜ž
i didn't wish to leave my Infocomm Club as i have been a member since Primary 3.
band have won awards while infocomm club is ... not sure but band is definately better than it in terms of awards achieved.
my parents left the choice to me and i am still deciding wisely.
Anyone can lend a helping hand? :?:
