    • RE: Q&A - P5 Math

      Bunny27:
      Pls assist me this question:

      Jane has $60 more than Candice. If Candice gives Jane $20, the amount of money Jane has will be thrice that of Candice's. How much does each of them have ?

      Thank u:)

      Draw a model to solve this question.

      You will realise that two units are actually $20+$20+$60 which is $100.

      Alternatively at last Candice has one unit. If she didn't give she would have 1u + $20. And as for Jane, if she didn't receive, she would have 3u - $20.

      And that you know that Jane has $60 more than Candice. So that means that

      1u + $20 = 3u - $20 - $60
      $20 + $20 + $60 = 2u
      2u = $100
      1u = $50

      Candice: $50 + $20 = $70
      Jane: $70 + $60 = $130

      Let’s gather the survey responses.

      Majority finds Science difficult only while some can easily score A* for the subjects.

      I agree with Sugar … he can first take Triple Science … if he can’t cope along the way, he can drop to Double Science.

      Yup .. you may place a random choice as your 6th choice if you're confident that you will for sure get into one of the first five choices of yours.

      To improve English, simply read English newspapers everyday, listen to English songs and English news, etc. Confirm will improve over time. 🙂 Hardworking eh, 加油哦!!

    • RE: Q&A - PSLE Math

      Daddy:
      hi all,

      Need help on this question. Thanks

      A shirt cost 1/3 as much as the cost of each pair of shoes. If Tricia bought 2 shirts and 5 pair of shoes for $799, how much did she pay for each shirt?

      Thanks
      2 shirts + 5 pair of shoes = $799

      If a shirt cost one-third as much as the cost of each pair of shoes, that means that each pair of shoes cost as much as three shirts. Convert all shoes to shirts.

      2 shirts + 15 (5x3) shirts = $799

      17 shirts = $799
      1 shirt = $799/17 = $47

      You can request for an appeal right? Just try placing 2P5 as your choice first, and see if the committee will approve your first choice. If not, get an appeal form and write an appeal letter to them telling them that you will work hard and improve your English. 🙂
