Hi, just to share this with the other parents who are planning to visit TGPS and Townsville.

It was very easy to make an appointment to visit TGPS. The person who answered the phone was helpful and polite.

Townsville on the other hand does not allow visitors to enter the premises except during open house. I was told that there was no point to visit as no one would be there to talk to us. No exception too if you are unable to make it on that day. Unfriendly and snooty.

      Hi Holiday,

Welcome back for the festive holiday πŸ˜‚

I believe as long as parents abide by the school visitors rules and regulations, the school (TGPS) will definitely welcome you to know more about the culture and its environment.

Sorry to hear about your call experienced with TVPS. Hope this will not affect your decision to still visit the school during its open house. πŸ˜„

      Regards,
      Astee

Hi Astee! Glad to be back after the long break. πŸ˜‚

      [quote=\"Astee Foo\"]Hi HolidayQ,

Well, we can learn and pick up additional knowledge in bento-ing, now the children may be fussy about what we prepared, but hopefully as they grow older, they will appreciate the effort. So we start with small and easy to eat items...what do you think?

I had a quick chat with a teacher regarding twins registering and was informed that the school will respect the parent's decision - either to keep both in same class or separate classes. πŸ˜„

Tell your twins that you are going via MacDonald Bishan Park and i believe they will surely follow you πŸ†’

      Good Luck!!

      CHeers,
      astee

πŸ˜„ astee, that's so nice of you. :thankyou:

Ha ha, we'll end up eating pancakes every morning just so that they get the free toys.

Hello bluebellas. Thanks for your reply.

Astee, I've been checking out bento recipes online. The presentation is so nice that I'm tempted to try. However, knowing my kids they will eat one mouthful and throw the rest away. Wasted effort.

rejoice, I was wondering if it's possible to walk across the park to school and now I know it can be done. Looks near but dragging 2 reluctant kids with me could make the journey twice as long. :scratchhead:

      Hi Astee,

Thanks for the welcome and your helpful advice! We gain precious info about the school through reading this thread and are deeply appreciative of the TGPS parents who are so generous to share their views and insights. i live nearer to the bishan side so i don't get a chance to walk past the school very often - wonder if they will put up the info on their website when open house draws near?

      Rejoice 137,
i think i can guess which popular school u are referring to...it's in fact just 5 mins walk from my place. competition is even tougher this year with the completion of the Clover condo and the new DBSS flats πŸ˜“ it's really encouraging to read about your good experience with TGPS. with half a year down to registration, i'm desperately trying to gather as much info as i can about the 3 nearest schools...

      HolidayQ,
my boy has a pair of twins in his kindy and another pair in his weekend enrichment class. so i can't help but wonder if we happen to know u n ur kids...hee hee
      :lovesite:

      Hi Astee and rejoice137,

Thanks for your reassuring feedback and kind advice. I'm becoming more and more convinced that TG is the right choice. Will definitely contact the schools for a visit.

I also prefer morning session but worried about the kids having to eat lunch in school almost everyday. Just thinking about what to pack in their lunch boxes is making me πŸ˜“

rejoice137, we could be neighbours πŸ˜‰

Everyone on this thread is so helpful and friendly that I thought I would say hi as well. I live within 1km of Teck Ghee and right now debating whether to register my twins at TG or Kuo Chuan which is 1-2km fr our home. All my friends are telling me to try ballot for Kuo Chuan but I like what I've seen on TG's website - my kids love art and craft.

Has anyone faced the same problem? If so, can you pls share why you chose TG?

Will the school allow us to pay a visit before the open house? Anyone knows their policy on twins - separate class or not?

      :thankyou:

just to share, during recess, was talking to one parent (lady) who was taking photos of her twins who are in the same class. Actually, she was talking to my mum in law. not sure whether she is here or not, but I was the guy in office wear, perspiring profusely..

And Nikerocks, good to finally meet. :boogie:

That's good to know. Thanks! πŸ˜„

Hi there, I have twins who will be in P1 next yr. We live within 1-2km fr KCPPS. We are in a dillema as we do not know if we should take the risk and try to ballot for KCPPS or just register at Teck Ghee which is within 1km to our home. Could any kind parent please share with us what you know about KCPPS?

      1) The number of vacancies and applicants at Phase 2C for those living 1-2km. Just want to gauge how low the balloting chances are based on last year’s registration.

      2) Why is KCPPS such a popular school? We often hear people say that KCPPS is a good school but no one could give us details. Do the students in general do well in PSLE? The school’s website doesn’t have anything on academic results.

      3) Anyone knows the school’s policy on twins? Will they be allocated different classes?

      Thanks in advance.
