This question comes from PSLE booklet (Year 2007-2011) pg 122 Q24.b

Other than using a cloth to wipe the plates, suggest one way to make the plates dry even faster.

      Hi
This question is testing you on your knowledge of factors affecting rate of evaporation. The factors are wind, temperature, exposed surface of the area and the humidity level in the air.Out of these, humidity and exposed surface area is ruled out as you cannot do anything with humidity and exposed surface area was mentioned in part a.Temperature is not possible to tell as if you put these plates in the microwave oven for example, and heat up for 20 seconds, the possible cause is although the plates would be dried,it would crack due to expansion of the plates.Wind,yes.The possible answer could be:
Place a fan beside the plates to dry them even faster.
      Hope my explanation helps.
      Cheers

My DD's answer - use the hair dryer to dry the plates. Is this answer acceptable?

Hi, for those who are attending the AMK classes at TAS, could someone let me know if there will be classes for tomorrow (11 Aug). I recalled someone told me that the centre will be closed tomorrow but I just want to confirm.

Yes the traffic this morning was really bad. It is usually a 10 min drive to the school today I took 25 min. Not sure if it will be worse next week as the sec school gals will all start at the same time, I think they are starting at 8 for this week.

Hi could I know how to solve the following question using unit method?

John and Peter had 360 buttons. John gave 4/7 of his buttons to Peter. In return, Peter gave 2/5 of his total number of buttons to John. They then had an equal number of buttons each. How many buttons did each of them have at first?

HI, need help on this Qn. 2011 St Nicks paper. Appreciate if someone could let me how to solve using model method.

Polly, Queenie and Remmy were given an equal number of charity tickets to sell. However, none of them completed selling their share of tickets. Polly sold 6 times as many tickets as Queenie and was left with 12 unsold tickets. 1/3 of the tickets sold by Remmy was 3 more than those sold by Queenie. The three of them sold a total of 239 tickets. How many charity tickets did each of them receive?
