      Hploke,

Congrats to you. My DD is currently in Rosyth GEP. She used to be from an all girls school too. She has adapted well in the new environment and we do not have any regrets. She had made many new friends in school, all are very nice. Of course, initial complaints are the boys in class. But she got used to it subsequently. And yes, she enjoys her lessons and likes the teachers. But one thing about Rosyth is it is not very competitive. Parents do not go around comparing the DC results. For us, I think is good as we are hoping this program can nurture the kids and not all about results.
Btw, my DD initially do not want to go for GEP so we were happy that she adapted well in Rosyth.
Thanks so much for your reply. It sounds like a nice place! Yup, my DD has to get used to boys too! Anyway, she is still not 100% certain she wants to take up the programme. We will see how things turn out after the briefing. I've been encouraging her that most kids seem to have no regrets joining the programme. Yes, I prefer a less competitive environment too. It's supposed to be a place for learning, not competition.

Hi! My daughter also got into GEP. Just wondering what St Hilda’s is like. Do the students enjoy school? Do they like the teachers? These are my main concerns as I want my kids to enjoy gong to school. My girl is from Haig Girls’ and we really like the school culture and the teachers there.

I heard that student life in Tao Nan is not very enjoyable. So my girl die die don’t want to go there even though it is really near us. And when I read Mum Needs Advice’s comments about Tao Nan, it confirmed my thoughts about the school. We need to choose a coed school as I have a 5 year old boy. So it’s st Hilda’s or Rosyth.

Hello, can anyone share with me any feedback about rosyth? My girl just got accepted for GEP and we are considering which school to place her in. We have a 5 year old boy too. My main concern is how the students feel about their teachers and school. I think this is the most important factor in whether the kids enjoy school or not. If the kids enjoys school it would be easier to motivate them to do well. My girl is currently in Haig Girls’ and both she and I have only positive experiences with the teachers and school. The nearest GEP school for us is Tao Nan, but my girl has heard negative comments from friends who go there. So has my husband from his colleague. So she die die don’t want to go there. Now we are considering Rosyth or St Hilda’s.

Would really appreciate any feedback about both mainstream and GEP. I’m really not so concerned whether teachers push their students to excel and all that. Main thing is whether the kids enjoy their lessons and like their teachers.
