my grandmother passed away early this morning.
I've been very unfilial because I didn't visit at the new nursing home after she was admitted there.
yesterday, mum was telling me we should visit her...so out of the blue I told her we should visit after picking daughter after school.

late last night, my hubby said I behaved very strangely. aunt informed me about the news at 530 this morning. hubby told me the kids were crying because I frightened them. when he asked me whether I knew what I was doing, I told him I do not know anything.
I'm sorry - for the loss of your grandmother, and also because it sounds like you just missed visiting her, and that's a hard thing. We could all be more filial (speaking for myself!) and from this thread it sounds like you've had a lot on your plate - be gentle with yourself.

Just curious - what’s the concern with P5/P6 kids going to a friend’s house with only a helper/grandparent around? My kid’s only 4 so this hasn’t come up, but I remember going to friends’ houses in P5/P6 (and in sec sch) for project work back in the day, and there wasn’t always a parent around (I think - don’t really remember, but my impression is that no-one had a stay-at-home parent).

Checking in for 2022! I'm reading the threads on the current P1 registration exercise with awe/horror...it's like a blood sport.

It’s worst than blood sport. Injuries will heal, this emotional battle will stay with you forever if you bow out.

The main thing I've learned is to avoid 2C as far as possible, because ballotting is not for the faint of heart (or indecisive of mind, which I am).
