Your word, \"better\", is for which subject?

1) for St Nick
OP Sec 1 subject \"Maths\", last year 2020 -

our Teachers pulled down some Sec 2 Maths topics from MOE syllabus, taught the class in advance. Other Secondary Catholic missionary schools' Sec 1 students not yet been taught, on these topics.
But our OP girls were already taught, first.

2) for Sec 2 OP subject \"Science \" -

St Nick observed & followed closely to what the IP Science topics have been covered & taught, in each Term.

Example

For this mid-year 2021 \"Sec 2 \" mid-year May month exam , which is starting tomorrow Thursday (6 May 2021), our O-level curriculum Science exam topics tested are 2 topics lesser (fewer), compared to our Year 2 IP Science exam topics. Apart from these two topics lesser, the rest of the remaining Science topics tested are the same, in both track. The exam topics tested may be identical, but the content questions tested may differ.

3) for subject \"Higher Chinese\" -
whether IP or OP track, our Sec 2 students take the same common exam HCL paper 2.

Example

Initially, our 2021 Sec 2 OP students supposed to test 4 HCL chapters, for this mid-year exam, same as what happened in previous Term 1 test.

But after hearing that Year 2 IP students are tested Total of 6 chapters, from dan yuan (4 and 7), from HCL textbooks 2A and 2B, after a meeting held by Chinese Teachers, decision changed ! Everyone, including OP students: now all follow IP track students, also tested Total 6 chapters, for mid-year exam. Not 1 chapter less. Not 4 chapters, anymore.

4) for subject Sec 2 \"Geography\", 2021 Year 2 IP students are tested more topics, than Sec 2 OP students

OP : O-level program curriculum

5) for subject Sec 2 Literature -

IP and OP used different Literature text. So exam content differ naturally.

===========================

Overall, IP track is the driver, because year-end this year, some of our OP students will cross over to the IP track, starting Y3 IP next year.

(I often talked about Sec 2, not other level, because of the year end streaming exercise held, to select next year Sec 3 subject combination. Sorry )

Thanks for advise. May i know where to find the list of dual track school?

Anglo-Chinese School (Independent)
Catholic High School
Cedar Girls’ Secondary School
CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ School
Methodist Girls’ School (Secondary)
Singapore Chinese Girls’ School
St. Joseph’s Institution
Victoria School

Hi IHs Mum, you can call your cc up to ask, if they still have it, can simply go down and get it. If they have returned it to MOE then you will have to enquire through the MOE hotline. Congrats to you and your child!
Thanks Zeal mummy. I will call MOE hotline tomorrow. Hopefully still able to retrieve the cert.

In the first award letter that you got from the mailbox, there should be a clause \"lf you have any queries on the presentation ceremony, please contact the Constituency Office at 6XXX XXXX.\".

If you have lost that letter, try calling your nearby CC or use the following link to check your Constituency Office contact number :-
https://www.sgdi.gov.sg/ministries/mccy/statutory-boards/pa/departments/grassroots/departments/co

All the best!

:congrats:
Thanks for your advice. I lost the letter after shifting. The letter did mentioned that they will send the cert back to MOE after the timeline but i still overlook. Haiz...
WIll try to contact MOE hotline to check tomorrow.

Hi zac’s mum,

Thanks so much for the hardwork.
My son is in P4 this year. Is the way to answer OE question for P3 & P4 will be the same? Or P4 will need longer explanation?

Hi Zac's Mum,

I'm keen. Please keep me update. Many thanks. 😄

zac's mum\" post_id=\"1915748\" time=\"1561439272\" user_id=\"53606:
Hi fellow P3 parents. I am in the process of preparing revision material for my son’s August CA2 (topics tested are “Exploring Materials” and “Your Amazing Body as a System”).

Because:

(i) the Science topics tested by different schools are all jumbled up in sequence, depending on which topics the various schools want to teach/test first and teach/test later;

(ii) the sample answers that come with the free test papers are not accurate at all;

(iii) several parents have commented to me that they/their kids don’t understand how to answer the open-ended questions with the correct keywords that will score maximum points;

(iv) I have been scoring As for Science all the way till BSc myself & my kid is able to use my tips to score maximum points with my type of keyword answers; so......

I will be preparing my own doc (printable) that contains topical past year open-ended exam questions, annexed with my own answers.

If anyone is keen to get a set (when ready), can u indicate over here in this thread? Then I will either PM you or set up some cloud sharing.

*NB: I will be doing these 2 topics first as they are more urgent for my needs. Subsequently I will do the following P3 SA2 topics (which tests the whole year’s work):

- Diversity Chapter 1: Classification of Living and Non-Living Things
- Diversity Chapter 2: Plants
- Diversity Chapter 3: Animals
- Diversity Chapter 4: Fungi and Bacteria
- Diversity Chapter 5: Exploring Materials
- Systems Chapter 1: Your Amazing Body as a System

*disclaimer: I am not a tutor. This is only out of good intentions to help your child score better in Science open-ended questions. I don’t claim to have all the right answers or the best answers!
