I’m sure many schools will update the status by Monday. Good luck to all!

RE: DSA 2016
Looking at this list https://www.moe.gov.sg/docs/default-source/document/media/press/2016/annex-b-list-of-awardees.pdf, you know even the schools do not award CO to the students, the students will still try their best in PSLE to enter their dream schools, of cuz with their parents' support too.

starlight1968sg:
Would a hdb have such issue?
Likely have, but residents will approach HDB directly.

RE: La Fiesta Condo
When you buy any house, you want to be a happy buyer, so once contract signed, happy, collect keys also want to be happy. Such incidents can dampen one’s spirits, even though can request the developer to solve the hiccups. And once residents blow up the case, it will affect their resale value, as once 5 years is up, experienced new buyer will also search for condo review.

You search under - riveria, west coast, you should have the answer.Ikid:
Most likely to affect the sales of this developer's latest project in West Coast, esp after 2 projects having similar quality problems.
What is the name of the project in West Coast?
And because Trivelis case was still fresh in my mind, when I received the flyer for this new launch, I thought the developer's name was familiar, so start searching. -

RE: Games at NUS orientation camps sexualised
SpartanMum:
Nowadays when someone mentioned so and so is a school leader, I take it with a pinch of salt.Leadership is all the rage these days. There is even a DSA domain for Leadership now.
But Leadership is really totally over-rated. Teachers in various schools use a variety of ways to choose their student leaders. Most are completely subjective. The truth is, at least at the primary school level, there may be a significant degree of favouritism involved. You may, for example, find that children whose parents are very active in PSG often become prefects.
Students are also becoming increasingly clever at gaming the system. Class bullies become leaders because they have mastered the art of behaving in the right way in front of teachers. This is more likely in the elite schools for obvious reasons.
I don't know how leadership qualities can be better assessed by schools so that true leaders can be betteridentified. But if Leadership is going to be rated so highly in schools then the schools have to have a robust and consistent system in place for not only identifying leaders but also training them. And training is not just throwing them together for a 3 day camp. It's about having teachers who oversee and evaluate them. Nowadays peer review is a convenient way to just leave it to the kids. How many teenagers are capable of being objective and reviewing their friends?
I don't know the background of the OGLs but it would be interesting to know whether they were leaders in their sec schools and JCs. Yes they should be reprimanded (but IMHO not necessary to name, blame and shame). But more importantly, there is an URGENT need to review how Student Leaders are identified and trained in schools.
What happened in the NUS orientation camp is just the tip of the iceberg. There is a much bigger problem here related to an educational system that places too much emphasis on success while not placing enough emphasis on values.
Unless I know that person well, knew his/her background, example, knew some great stuff that the student had done. Otherwise, the title is just a title. If you look at how so many schools select their so-called school leaders, you are going to say 'Unbelievable'! Selections can be classified as follow:-
Favourite students (favouritism by teachers), good results students (academically strong, but may not have EQ), better behaved students (but do not possess leadership quality), students with special background (so and so's child, parents already built the bridge for them), students who are influential, as they are able to get peers' support to their craziest ideas.. Of course, among these 'leaders', there are true leaders, who are able to lead by good example.
I have seen many 'school leaders' with 'leaders' behaviour' only in the presence of the teaching staff but not in the public or with their family. So what do you say?
