Just to give you an update... my daughter got into her second choice AJC today.

Glad that we still give a shot at a JC which she missed by 1 point

My daughter O levels has 10 points and nett 8 points. She in interested in the Arts stream.


Is it wise to put:

First choice - Nanyang JC Arts (7 points)
Second choice - Anderson JC Arts (8 points)

Her preference is NYJC, but would that put her in a disadvantaged position to secure AJC if she can’t get NYJC?

My dd got 9 points raw score and 7 points nett score for L1R5.

English A1
Chem A2
Physics A2
Geog A2
SS/History A2
Chinese B3

She is contemplating H2 Math, H2 Econs, H2 Geog, H1 Chem.

I believe this is Arts stream? Any thoughts about this combo? Would this be good enough for entry to take up business degrees in NUS/NTU?

She is not interested in pursuing medicine/science/engineering degrees.

She has visited AJC’s open house today but missed out on ACJC, SAJC and NYJC open houses. Can anyone share their thoughts about these JCs?

I’ve sprained my wrist. Gone to one in Geylang but not healed. Any good sinsehs to recommend? Preferably west or city.

As we are overseas around Dec 22, I need to find out how the appeal process works so that my proxy can get the paperwork done properly. Called 2 schools but given conflicting answers. Here is my understanding and hope parents here can confirm if it is correct.


1) Dec 22 report to posted school. Then go back to the school I wish to appeal submit form. Not necessary must be on Dec 22, can go on Dec 23 too to appeal.
- School A tells me to submit appeal form at posted school
- School B tells me must go back to the school I wish to appeal to submit form.

2) When submitting the appeal form, include these documents: P5/P6 result slip; achievements; certificates; photocopies of parents NRIC, child’s birth cert, proxy NRIC.

Swiss cottage is a good school. My eldest daughter finished her Sec 4 this year. Culture & environment is good. She is very happy there. Academically did better than her primary school. The only down side it is a tad old.

Dec 22 onwards.
