Dreamaurora:ngl2010:Whoa.... So dangerous... Does it mean the interpretation should be what \"the general public\" likes? Cannot be creative? It's very hard to put down what is an accepted interpretation for exam; the examiners have diverse backgrounds and trainings so their preference may differ. All examiners do have to follow the marking criteria detailed in ABRSM website, but of course each examiner may have subtle difference in interpreting the marking criteria. Speaking from experience, most ABRSM examiners prefer more conservative approach. Examiners whose background is full time piano study are the ones who will usually appreciate more piano specific interpretation and creativity.and some are choral masters, cellists, trombonists, etc. So much variation.
