Hi Mdm Lau! I talked to the trainer and bought his book, the one on how to become an officer. He is the one who gives comments in the Straits Times about recruits’ adjustment to BMT. The book is very good!! It gives alot of details about what to do in BMT and before BMT to become an officer. My son is reading the book now. I may still considering whether to send him for the course after his exams. If you decide to try it out, let me know how it goes??

RE: How to become an officer?
Hi Notto, i checked out that NS Formulas company you mentioned in your earlier post. Is it the same company that appeared in Straits Times a few days ago, in the article about the Tekong recruit? i thought the name looked really familiar. Is the psychologist the trainer for your son?? How is he like??

RE: Spouse or Kids? Which comes first?
as a mom of 2 teenage boys, from my own experience, i think it depends on how old your kids are. when my boys are younger, they are definately my top priority. although hubbie used to complain abt feeling neglected sometimes in the past haha. i think most moms will agree with me that their precious small baby will come first, followed by the big baby at home
as my boys grow older, i start to find that it balances out more.. probably becos my boys also start to disappear from home abit more, leaving me with more time for my hubbie.. -
RE: Scoliosis check in the Primary School
you mean whether the health checks in lower pri sch also include checks for scoliosis? i think they only start at upper pri sch… my cousin’s daughter got detected with slight scoliosis at her pri 5 or 6 check up… heng not very serious, else muz wear braces i think… agree with you that they should start earlier… not sure why they dont do it…

RE: How to become an officer?
Hi Notto! i am happy to see your post. i think you’re probably the only one with such old kids like me. Most of the threads seems to be for parents with younger kids… i feel so old! My first boy is going for NS next year. Can I know how was your son’s NS experience? DId you prepare him for it? My boy is quite a soft spoken child, dont do much sports, so I am a little worried whether he can cope in NS… thank you… hope you dont mind sharing…
