My child has been offered a place in Singapore Sports School in 2018. I am writing to ask for advice on what the student culture of Sports School is like and how I can support her as a parent. Are the students there playful and addicted to phone games or are they serious and conscientious in their work. Would appreciate if parents can advice me on this forum or PM me so that I can see how to guide my child accordingly.

Hi J Herr, we were at the open house last Sat. There was a form for us to fill up but we didn't submit as we did not have the P5 results. Guess I will have to contact the school to find out more.

A reminder will be send out to you a few days before the trial date. Just have to bring your child's P5 year wnd result on the 1st trial.

Hi, any idea how we can go to the selection trial for shooting? Do we have to register for it?

Did you missed their open house last Saturday? There were try-outs during the open house too.

My dd was being talent spotted during zonal & nationals. We've got the invitation for trial when she was in P5. This yr, we've got the the trial invitation again.
It will be different trial dates for different academy I think.

My girl got talent spotted last month during a match & was invited by the academy’s head coach to attend a trial. The head coach mentioned that it is ok for her to attend the trial with the current P6s despite being only in P5.

Hope this will motivate her to do better in both sports & her psle next yr.

My girl is in an IJ school P5 & she's planning to join SSS under netball.

Any idea how I should go about with the preparation? For example, apart from the exam results, what else is required?
Ive been reading the DSA threads but mostly threads are under DSA academics.

The 1st bus vendor charged us $127 per mth per child, 2way trip -Sengkang to Olgc in 2010.
A new vendor took over in end 2012 & quoted me $240 per child, 2way trip.
Total cost: $ 480 for my 2girls/ mth

Form teacher used harsh words in my P2 dd's class \"blur like sotong\", \"stupid\", \"slow\"..etc.
Chn hv different levels of competencies. Some r just late bloomers esp d lower primary..

In addition, the admission officer & support staffs of OLN r much friendlier & helpful.
