    • RE: 2016 PSLE Discussions (Born in 2004)

The question as my son told me, and my answer that I told him.

Diagram of a weighing scale using compressed springs, connected to a lighting circuit.
Q: What should the contacts of the lighting circuit be made of? Why?
A: Copper. Copper is a metal and it is a good conductor of electricity.
Q: Why did the engineer say it is not safe for the weighing scale with the lighting circuit to light up when the child is over 40kg limit but he says it should light up when the child is not 40 kg instead.
A: If the lighting circuit is spoilt, the lighting circuit will not light up and will not detect a child that is over the 40kg limit and who is not allowed on the ride because it is dangerous.
Q: What can be changed to a 40kg limit weighing scale connected to the lighting circuit, to increase the weight limit to 50kg.
A: Add more springs / change to a less elastic spring.

Does anyone remember the last question of the science paper? I think it's something about a weight based circuit...

The PSLE is over for most of our dear P6 children, go celebrate and have fun ๐Ÿ•บ

Balloon question: my child said kinetic energy makes the balloon move then gravitational pulls it down
Weight/spring question: my child said change to longer spring

      Q1 Imho..
The balloon possessed Kinetic Energy to convert into Gravitional Potential Energy. Hence balloon continued to rise even after the balloon was deflated.

Q2. I think it should not be longer spring.

Change the spring into one that has lesser flexibility. So that it can receive a larger elastic spring force of up to 50kg weight limit.

For science I heard itโ€™s tough.

      1) why does a balloon move in different directions when the air inside the balloon is released.

2)Diagram of a weighing scale using compressed springs, connected to a lighting circuit.

A: Add more springs / change to a less elastic spring.

      Etc
Clarified with DS and he drew diagram and with the questions. Attempted an answer based on the question assuming itโ€™s correct.

      Verdict

      For Maths
      Paper 1 is hard
      Paper 2 is very easy

DS is quite agitated too, last question 30 left blank (2 marks gone). Generally it is a habit not to leave any question unattempted, but if he leaves it blank then it is probably harder than usual?

Hope that paper 2 is easier.

Is the last question 30 easy or hard? DS left it blank, 2 marks lost.

Heard that PSLE Maths paper 1 is hard, some students cannot complete the paper. Is it hard?
