Can the p1 parents let me know how is the homework load last week. My girl just had 1 stellar worksheet for english to complete, other than that nothing much. Is it the same for all classes?

When my daughter was in P1, she didn't get much homework, though sometimes it depends which teacher you get. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Hi,

I just joined my daughter in this school a couple of weeks ago in primary 3.

She missed few weeks of classes already.

she was attending an international school earlier. hence we are not familiar with the test pattern..

Appreciate if somebody can share some thoughts, how to prepare for the upcoming tests in early march.

Any suggestions on what books to buy and prepare is greatly appreciated..

Thanks
BSK
There is an English/Science workshop for P3/P4 parents this Sat (23 Feb). You may also find it useful to attend to find out what is covered and how the subjects are taught.😄 If you did not receive the form to register, I'm sure you can ask the class teacher for it.

Hi !

My girl is in p1 this year. Was wondering if it is ok to get small gifts for her teachers for teachers' day ? What is the usual practice in this school. Also dun know what to get..... Thanks
Hi,
We received an email from the school about teacher's day. Did you get it too? This bit here should answer your question: \"We would like to discourage our girls from spending unnecessarily and buying expensive gifts for their teachers. All our girls have been given a coloured slip to express their thanks to their teacher. The template is attached for parents who wish to thank the teachers. This will be collated and handed to the respective teachers.

They can also go the following website to express their thanks and wishes – http://www.teachersday.sg\"
Hope it helps.

Hi,

Is the school badge & embroidery name sew or iron on the uniform?

Thanks.
The school badge is sewn onto the uniform (i.e. comes with the uniform). The name tags are given out the first week of school (at least that's what happened when my daughter was in P1). You can iron it on but you will still have to sew to make sure it stays on longer. 😄
hi mummies, thanks for the reply.I've actually called up cambridge to enquire. Was really pleased when there's a childcare and a student care as well. Which means her sister will be in the same school as well. But, the fees are quite high. Was also wondering if the school has any cca school that will pick send them for students who need to stay back after school?

Hi poppin86,

Hahaha.. forgot to warn you fees can be quite high at Cambridge :moneyflies: . There are other childcare centres in Serangoon Garden but I am not sure they have student care too. You may try to call:

- Cherie Hearts at Brighton Crescent (along Serangoon Garden Way)
- Blossom Discovery along Chartwell Drive (the lane going towards OLGC, near the circles)

Blossom is no longer at Chartwell Drive, they have moved to take over the childcare on Lorong Chuan just before the Caltex station.

Just to warn you that fees are not cheap around Serangoon Garden. :xedfingers:
About the CCA bus, yes, there are buses to take them home after CCA which ends at 3.45pm. Just need to pay something like $2 for the trip. Most of the students start on CCA in P3. But there are some who do CCA from P1.

hi,can anyone please advise if there's any student care nearby for this school? What CCAs do they provide?thanks so much!

i guess you can check out the CCAs provided, via the school's website.

my DD will be attending a student care at amk central but understand from the ctr's in-charge that there aren't many vacancies left.

The nearest student care centre could be the one at Bethesda Bukit Arang Church (Serangoon Ave 3). They also have a branch at Serangoon Ave 4. For more centres, you could try searching the MCYS Child Care Link database: http://www.childcarelink.gov.sg/ccls/home/CCLS_HomeParentsLocateCCC.jsp
My daughter goes to a centre in Serangoon North. All the best! 😄

My daughter and I have been avidly following Season 1 on Okto. At first I was amazed and impressed with the kids’ cooking skills. Now I’m even more impressed because the kids have shown spontaneity, confidence without being arrogant, coolness under pressure, poise, sportmanship and support for each other. Wow! There’s a lot kids and even adults can learn from them. Quite rare, I thought, to have a children’s programme that is fun and also educational.
