The tutor I engaged told me that attention is really a big umbrella so we need to know what is the root cause leading to short attention span. It is hard to address attention problem alone without knowing the root cause as it will just keep coming back. I brought my kids to some private practice said to improve attention, but after several sessions, there was no significant change and it is so costly. It is till I happen to know about this tutor that I realized and learnt about attention. Now my children are still with her and I can see better improvements…

personally i do not mind because in today’s context, our kids are so stressed and most of the times, do not get to play actively… i feel if kids are given enough time to experience and play actively since young, their motor skills will be quite good… what need to improve will then be their processing? these can come from simple activities such as tangram shapes? perhaps brain tuition is necessary if you see no improvement in one after another tuitions since there are underlying issues not addressed yet… learning is just too difficult now.

hey my kid’s tutor also does some of these training during his normal academic tuition. I observe that my boy enjoys the learning process and hence, absorbs better… she does 1 to 1 or in small groups too

can play some really good games especially the traditional tangram shapes… my kids play that in their tuition and really can see them improve in solving math problems and also better interpretations of problems. Apart from the tangram shapes, their tuition teacher also has some other games that she used with my kids, can’t rmb the name though… i don’t mind the games as long as my kids learn and improve, at least they learn happily too

I heard BrainFit Studio is quite good, all programmes are supported well with research… can go and listen to the workshop to learn more (of course be prepared to spend quite a sum)… but they can really find the root cause and target it well, my niece attended last year, show good improvements socially and academically.

sometimes poor concentration and attention could be due to some weakness kids may be facing such as unable to quickly differentiate words visually will reduce their attentiveness in reading? I think can try out programmes that target in finding out the root cause and try to improve these areas, attention normally improves in a way too

True… All e work is getting so hard now…no wonder more and more ppl looking into brain enrichment stuff… Improves processing and learning speed… Placed my child with one tutor who does some of the brain enrichment stuff apart from academics… Ddaughter learning betterment less stubborn…

i placed my 2 children in a group tuition with this teacher who comes to my house. though they are in grp tuition, their learning portfolio is fully individualized and her tuition will include brain stimulating activities too to date, my children seem happier in their learning and grades wise, improved about 10 points?

i think the tutor that i have currently for my 2 children is good individualized learning plan and brain stimulating exercises make their learning so much more interesting and holistic.

i think one who thinks and knows the child, able to customized learning according to the child’s strength and weakness is important? most importantly, interesting lessons that child is self-motivated.
