RE: All About Supplements for Children
cindyll:
vitamin c is known to work really well to heal scars. but honestly, i'm not too into synthetic vitamin pills cos in the long run, they are not healthy as they are mostly just compounds chemically similar, not exact, to real vitamins. my advice is to give your son fruit and vegetable juices high in vitamin c. this will ensure that he gets the vitamins into his bloodstream. eating raw vege and fruits help too but juices are more easily absorbed so would definitely work faster for himHi
Any good supplements for marks? My son has a lot of mosquitoes bites on the leg, with lots of marks and scars. Thanks -
RE: Ds is good at nothing
ChiefKiasu:
To put things in perspective, your son is only in P1. Don't try to win the battle and lose the war. Not many parents (myself included) have the patience and stamina to teach their own kids. You might wish to outsource that to a professional who will know how to build his foundations from ground up.
yes i totally agree, sometimes we parents just can't teach our kids cos we tend to get frustrated more easily since we have higher expectations of them, unlike a trained teacher or tutor who has more experience in dealing with all types of children and are able to work with them more patiently. i must say that i was glad i left the academic side of my children in reliable hands of tutors rather than do it myself...otherwise i could be breathing down their necks at every possible moment. remember it's not worth it to strain your relationship with your children over academic matters. life is not just about their grades! -

Actually quite many choices from the pool of used cars. I will take a breather now after checking for the past few days. Initially very worried about when can get hold of the car...now from what I have gathered, it can almost be immediate...so don't sweat while hoping for the COE to adjust

Yes, there are lots of choices for used cars in sgcarmart. In fact, the choices can be overwhelming and it will be difficult to choose.
Another thing to note is how to ensure that you're not choosing a car that has major problem (which you cannot immediately know). This is the most tricky part. One ex-colleague bought a 5-yr-old car, drove less than one year, felt some problem. Went back to AD to check, was told the gear needs replacement, and original was $4k. The car cannot engage 'D' normally when first switched on engine, and need a number of tries. Over that weekend he immediately sold it off and got another used car. When he showed the dealer the car to negotiate the price, he didn't turn off the engine
Often it's a matter of luck on whether you end up with a good car, or a very troublesome one, when buying used cars.
So, do be careful. Engage the help of mechanics if necessary, and good luck.
true! buying second hand cars really require a trusted car mechanic to test drive with u before u decide to buy. otherwise, might be getting a load of trouble home -
RE: Do your kids play online game?
i think the issue can only be solved if our kids get some kind of alternative to online computer games. so it would be good to bring them cycling at the park or get them out of the house. i realised that it really helps! spending too much time indoors tend to make them lethargic and reliant on gadgets so developing outdoor hobbies is key

Need to apply for the free, instant Changi membership card to qualify for the GST shopping. Not sure if GST free is applicable to all or only participating shops as I only patronise only some stores offering it.
Jennifer:
Metro doesn't give you an outright discount but in the form of shopping vouchers to be used for next purchase, am I right?
However if you buy from airport, you save 7% GST which is indirectly a form of discount.
Every shop at the airport is GST free? Open to public?
anyone knows which part of changi airport do I go to in order to apply for this card? -
RE: Preparing For O-Levels
Hello everyone! My brother is taking his O levels this year. He is currently only just-passing his English so I am urgently trying to find a good English private tutor for him.
Could any kind souls here please recommend me some good English tutors? They have to be experienced.
where do you live? if central or west can consider my one. my girl goes to an ex-MOE teacher for english near redhill mrt. I think if you near around this area, she’s really good. my girl just stays around the B4 60-64% region all the time, can’t seem to improve but after about half a year to a year with this teacher, she’s just scored her first A2 this mid year. guess i finally found the right person to push her, i think my girl writes ok but usually B the teacher taught her lots of ways to use better vocab so she scored A2 overall for compo and letter. i looked at her compre techniques also quite good, not the usual just answer the question blindly -

I prefer balance meals and fruits for my kids.
true, fruits are awfully important cos of the enzymes. we can't get much enzymes from any other food since it's mostly cooked. i realised that my son absorbs fruit juices very well, cos he always has chapped lips (very dehydrated inside i guess) but after drinking juices, the problem is solved -
