I'm down with the flu for this whole week and it surprises me how people are so misinformed. Some think I'll be better in a day and some think I'm just exaggerating. No, my body hurts like hell and I have a 40 degree temp and I can't eat anything solid or else I'll throw it up. My mother is one of those misinformed people which aggravates me because if I didn't drive myself to the hospital I would've never gotten a diagnosis or a note to prove it. Unfortunately, my Chinese mother will continue to be ignorant and stubborn, but I'm just so grateful I have an SO and friends to help take care of me.


But what really gets on my nerves are people of this generation who are like \"my flu only lasts a day\" or \"I got better in 3 days, I'm sure you'll heal soon.\" NO. You did not have the flu. You had the cold. They are NOT the same thing. Go read up on influenza and stop spreading misinformation with your misinformed minds. Also, No, I absolutely cannot go to school and work bc I work with children and they might die from it. So many have died or didn't get checked early because they thought they're flu was just a cold. The hospital doc even commended me for not listening to my mother and coming in to get checked early on so the antiviral can still work. I also had sat beside some nasty people in lecture who were hacking into their hands and not their arms. I sometimes even felt some splatter on my hands and iPad. I made sure to wash myself right after but obviously it was too late. It might not have been them, but there are still a lot of sick people out and about. Point is, if you're sick, DON'T COME TO SCHOOL. The reason flus are so widespread is people don't take it seriously and \"can't afford to miss out on school.\" No. You are getting the rest of us sick and you might spread it to the children or elderly who are more susceptible and can die from it. Just stop.
