      verykiasu2010:
the alumni is very very active and hence the robustness of the school traditions .....

My gal is in Pei Chun. Husband is an old boy so when I realised that I was too late to join the alumni, the staff at PCPS assured me that its ok. Cos whatever places are left after phases 2a will split into 2 and goes into phase 2b & 2c. Just that if u are in the alumni, u get to register in an earlier phase.

no need tent la, if like me, reached there ard 6 am. Make sure u have food with u, water, laptop with wireless connection, a bit difficult if u want to read a book cos it can be quite dark. Chit chat with the parents near u so to share ideas. 😄 Like what i did with another parent.

If possible, maybe get some1 to go with u, 1 sleep in car first, then take over. Aonther advice is dun bring kids there! They will be bored.

i think mummy is more of a detailed person and looks into minute bits while daddy looks at the big picture and not think so deeply.

    • RE: Advice - Divorce or Not to Divorce

In my opinion, do what is best for ur child. Will he be better with/ without the fatherly figure? In my course of wk, I have came across many families with homes with trouble. Some are from single parent family and doing well, some with the parents not in talking terms and has severely did harm to the kids.

Really have to think for ur child, thou they cant really voice out how they say, observed their emotions and daily habits. If u need help, talk to family service centres.
I have seen families facing problems but scared of losing face and not seek help. Must really think for ur child cos they are innocent and cant protect/ think for themselves. I hope u get what i mean.

    • RE: Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts - Kinder Art class

i was there ard 530 or 6 am cos had to attend my gal’s graduation concert at 10 am. My tot was t be first in line then can reg at 9, so shd be done by 930 or so then can rush down for the concert. When i reach, already got 5 ppl infront.

Lik wat VooVoo says, if u want a specific timeslot, it be gd to be early. Cos certain classes would left with less than 5 slots. And remember to email junior arts abt ur intention to reg for the classes. U need to be in the mailing list.

I used the mini electri pump for both my gals. Bought in 2003, kept, lend it to a fren then took back to use in 2007. Now lend to a fren again and still working. Good. No complains. My best fren during my breast feeding days. Thou i got a colleague who prefer avent (hand pump). For me i dun like avent (hand pump), tiring.

    • RE: [Seletar] Preschools

My 2 gals are in Cambridge (ikids). One has graduated. I definitely recommend that sch cos it has small enrolment (80) so it wouldnt be too cramp and teachers are nice. We are informed every Fri on what is being taught via the com book. Heard that Caanan is not too bad but dunno whether is it a child care centre

      marmum:
What type of parent volunteer duties are there? Is the standard of Chinese very high at Pei Chun? Any recommendations for enrichment classes that you find beneficial to your kids?

Not sure abt the parent volunteering duties. But i think the standard is bit higher as compared to other non-SAP schs. They use the higher chinese textbook. I tried putting my gal at Tien Hsia but she didnt enjoy. Mayb not familiar with the classmates and the curriculum is more challenging there. Didnt want her to have CL phobia hence i withsrew after 2 terms. Heard that Berries also not bad.
