      Han Seo:
How can we tell if the fish sold in supermarkets and wet markets are farmed or from the sea? I understand farmed fish are fed with antibiotics and are also likely to be contaminated by other chemicals. Any idea?

Oh no, my brother doesn'tt feed his farmed fishes with any antibiotics, all with prawns & fish meat and dried pellets. The ponds are big and impossible to feed with any medications. All his fishes & prawns are healthy with good conditioned seawater.

    • RE: All About Dyslexia

Written remarks on his work sheets by saying "If he doesn’t want to do his comprehension, give him another 2 hours also no use !! ".

1st term of school only, complained to general office and get the administrative staff to post message on the Eschool App to inform his parents that he did not revise his chapter 2 Chinese
wordings & just did 5-6 questions, thus his Chinese Teacher refused to accept his works. Can’t
this Chinese Teacher just give the parents a call to inform and find out what had happened ???

      Hi lurline,

Students who didn't do well in all subject means they failed all or borderline passed the 3 subjects but failed MT?
My boy is also attending das and his classmate is also p2. Progress also slow. Can't comprehend or do compo too due to reading and spelling difficulties too.
We wanted to apply for exemption but the school keep asking us to try until p5 when he can take foundation. I'm also feeling very helpless as I feel foundation MT is not the solution. My boy having to go thru p4 with all the stress and feeling inferior failing tests/exams and teachers maybe thinking they did not try hard enough, etc. I really can't imagine the impact on them emotionally and mentally.
      Hi 'blurblueberry' & 'lurline',

My nephew was diagnosed with both severe Dyslexia & ADHD in P3 in year 2014 and my brother & sister-in-law did not send him to DAS as heard from friends that it will be a very slow improvement, instead got him a home Chinese lady young tutor to teach him. He passed all his 4 subjects in P3 & P4, but cos the Chinese tutor can no longer teach him & changed to a new male tutor who has no experience in giving tuition + no patience in teaching him, he failed his Chinese for the 1st time this year.

My nephew lost confidence in the Chinese since term 2 this year due to the new tutor and the worst thing is that his school Chinese Teacher is giving Sarcastic Remarks & Complaints on him.

    • RE: School counselling

      Donkey Kong:
School counsellor will ask parents and kids to meet him/her at school. Then, talk talk talk. Then, she said kid is ok in school, must be something wrong with your parenting. Suggest you go FSC to settle. Indirectly telling us: Nothing concern school. 😢

CGC staff are not very well trained. I guess the well trained ones have left to set up their private clinics. But, very expensive. 1 session $200. Can we HDB folks afford? 😞

S$200 per session is for RMS/D. Rich men sons and daughters. :? Long term paying $200/se is killing. :stupid:

Yes agreed that approaching a School Counsellor is totally no use, keep saying that the kid is ok & normal, just that the kid is too lazy & giving excuses. So refuse to refer the kid to MOH for test of ADHD & Dyslexia.

      valwan934:
my child works super hard, she's literally glued to her desk, and yet she scores poorly in school 😞 my heart breaks seeing how demoralised she is because of that.

      Think she is over-stressed.

Suggest that you get a friendly home tutor to guide her to increase her confidence.
