RE: All About Kids' Eye-sight
Hello,
My child left eye is -1200, with glasses, he is still not able to see. Have been patching for 6 years now, did a MRI, retina scan, but the doc couldnt figure out why he couldnt see.
Any parents with child with eye problem sees improvement after vision therapy?
I found 2 from google

Anyone tried? I would like to hear your experience and feedback. -
RE: All About Kids' Eye-sight
Hello all,
My son has strabismus/amblyopia. Right eye is far sighted +200, left eye is shortsighted with astigmatism, -1200 and -175 respectively. He has been wearing glass with patching for 3 years, there is no improvement on his vision (he cant see with his left eye when he has his patch on, even he has the correct prescription). Last year we switch to contact lens to correct for shortsightedness in his left eye, and uses glasses to correct his far sighted and asti. Still no improvement on his left vision. With the patch on he has to put his face on the table to write, read, colour.
We have been doing the patch for 4 years now, not even slight improvement to date. We were seeing doctors in KKH, and we are with TTSH (but still with the same doctor).
The doctor extend the the patching time, from 3 hours a day to 6 hours a day. We are now on full day patching (1month trail) to see if it helps, going for review at end of AUG.
Because he cant see with his patch on, his learning/motor skills is slower, he is more reclusive. We want him to be able to see with his left hand, but all the examination shows that with the patch on his is not seeing anything. We are not sure if we should continue with his patching.
Any parents with child with some condition? Any better eye specialist out there? We are wondering if there are other treatment out there.
