I doubt it is that simple as in blank out the names. The act of photocopies are already copy infringement. The act of "sharing" in media is evident to such crime.

Kylene, if you really wants the tuition centre notes. I suggest you put your child to tuition centre. Otherwise get the original notes pass down from relatives or friends. I have a friend who gotten into trouble with the law on photostat notes from a couple of tuition centres (still in the midst of settling in the law suit). How she was caught.......I am not going into details. Tuition notes already stated - \"no part of this publication may be reproduced without the prior permission of xxxx\"


So I suggest parents, pls do not get yourself and your family into trouble of unnecessary kind.

Same for me. I prepared the Oral prep card on my own. Used the Wang material but too cheem for my DC. So I tweaked the words to simple Singapore spoken Chinese. It works perfectly for my DC and even score a perfect marks in his recent P5 chinese oral. Sometime parents gotta see the material in context. Wang material are simply too cheem and not in local flavour and hence some kids really catch no balls.

Request for a tutor only if the child struggles and as a parent you can’t help anymore.

I worked in night shift permanently. By the time I hit home at 8am, I sleep. By the time the kids come home from school, I teach them. We don’t have tuition except for Chinese - because it is one such subject I can’t teach. Like everyone, I am re-learning Primary School all over again. Crazy SGP school system…I would say. I try my best to teach on my own because I want to teach my children to stand on their own and to be resilient - to fish information on their own. Be responsible with their actions. Too much tuition has negative impact to children in the long run. Excessive tuition may remove the aspect of self-discovery and curiosity needed for a child to be successful in their later years. What is important is to encourage a desire to learn.

Today, we are seeing more and more college students taking tuition. Who knows the next generation of University Grad might follow suit? Who knows?

My DC skipped school totally straight after prelim result and release of prelim papers. Inform the FT that we are doing intensive recap and revision and most importantly rest well and not catching any viruses. FT and teachers were kind enough to understand.

I was born in those era where \"girls are considered grass\" and hence no need to spend money and effort on. Constant reminders of being labelled as \"stupid\" and \"useless\" by parents and siblings woke me up after being sick of all these nonsense and decided to prove them all wrong. A big failure in life - failed 1 year and was given a chance to move on by the principal. Also a teacher's earnest advice strike me up - \"what do I want to be when I grow up?\" I was left with 2 years to really woke up and study hard.

So a hard knock in life do me good.

Also thanks to my wonderful teacher, who gave me valuable advice on how to revise. Constantly over-looking me. I am so thankful for. The bonding between the teacher and me is just like a mother to a child. So cherish this.

So to all mothers out there.......your child can still make it.

Perhaps comes Nov and Dec, focus on her weakness and pump up from there.

Don’t worry mummies and daddies out there. PSLE is just one of the hurdles. There are more to come. Miss one hurdle does not mean "The End". Along the way, there are students who suddenly pick up and be great. During my time, I have primary school friends having loads of supports - "Mummy does all the teachings" or "rich enough to have tuition" and through that they have gotten fantastic result.


But when it comes to Secondary School, it is a load of different story. Surprisingly, those who did not have any support at all and did not have fantastic score in PSLE did well or not too bad in "O" level. I was one of them, got into NT and now I am holding a doctorate. I am a late bloomer and did not have any support system in Primary School. So…don’t despair.

scrapbookmummy, jia you! Believe in yourself. Forget about the P5…your DD’s goal is PSLE. Don’t give yourself undue stress. Even if the P5 result is not so fantastic, don’t despair unless you are vying for DSA. If not, ditch the DSA thoughts, focus on PSLE. JIA YOU!

xn_mummy, I think your DD is stress liao. I suggest you don’t give her anymore new questions. Instead walked through with her the prelim papers and review the mistakes. Pump up her confidence by re-doing her school prelim papers.
