Hi…depends on your belief actually…do you believe in learning through play integrated with Montessori education. Summer montessori has a strong approach to theme and balance montessori as well. Also the team of teachers are important and the environment. Teachers are very very important to me. You can always tell from the teachers if they are comfortable and know what they are doing with children. The environment must be clean and have many materials for children. With so many choices out there, its boils down to what you want for your child. I prefer a school which actively updates parents and children have fun.
Each child is unique and you know what is best for your own child right?

It is odd how small ratios are not good while some say big ratios are not good. So what ratio is perfect? Hmmmm…

Hmmm......mummies must understand that school bus service is beyond the school's control. It is not too nice to openly speak of switching schools in a public forum and your child still attending school at the center.
Coming from a lecturer like myself and a parent whose child is in K2, as for standard, i have observed that children who have stayed on in the center since nursery do very well beyond other children their age. The school has a sound programme. But at the same time, the school has taken in one or 2 new k1 and k2 and they are very much behind their peers. You can see on the blog. This shows that other schools that new kindergarten kids come from do not have a nursery level programme as sound.
Why do you worry about primary 1. Isn't the school transparent enough to show you snippets of what the children are doing academically in the classrooms?
Summer Montessori is just one school on its own with no branches whatsoever. This means that they are dedicated to what they do. Teacher child ratio is kept small because the school believes that children need the attention and should not be ignored. Wouldn't it be easy for Summer montessori to have less staff and cut costs? Or have more staff with raised costs to meet children's needs? Do you even think the fees at the school equate to the number of staff they provide?
Teachers are always there to be a listening ear and for the safety and to love your children.
Are you preparing your child for an environment where he / she is not going to be given the attention? Is primary school really as harsh as it is made to sound? Why the pessimism?
Sending a child to a school is not just academic.
She/ he should understand what she/ he learns and if learning is a foundation to support later learning. The child must also have psychological and sociological development that can only be developed in a smaller ratio so the teacher can address problem areas and help children develop confidence.

Yes dear, if you are unsure then you should look through the notice as i am clear about what i am posting on a public forum.
For me at campus 2, fees are the same as hours are the same at 3.5hrs.
Its the same if you refer back to your enrollment forms for 2.5hr and 3.5hr programme. At the RC, sunflowertot did a max of only 2hr per session but i guess with the distance, they have decided that more time will serve the children better and make the distance or travel down more worth it, and give more contact time with option of 3 day, 5 day.
Setting up and resettling is not easy on a school. They were comfortably operating from where they are now and there is no reason to move unless they wanted the school to be better than where it comfortably is as of now.
They have tried their best from appealing to the RC for space and getting petitions for bigger space, all the trouble and effort for our children. I remembered getting my whole family to sign on the petitions.
If you really like it and believe in it, you should continue…
For such low fees, for such good teachers, for posting what my child’s class is doing…i appreciate. You know what its like in the primary schools and only we can analyze better.
…i don’t see any good and reliable option anywhere near street 65 of all my years here…and the school has a greater potential to be better if not for the small spaces now.
Every school increases fees every now and then, by 50 to 100, and the school is only increasing material fees. The fees look higher because maybe the grannies have not looked into the enrollment forms and the hours tagged to it. : ( -
RE: [Jurong East/Jurong West] Preschools
If i have noticed, when i last enrolled my child, i paid $380 for 2.5hr session until she settled in and then i placed her in the 3.5hr session. So actually the more hours you take up, the cheaper on parents. So fees have not increased. Its just the hours tagged to fees. Material fee has by only $10 a month and i have seen for myself that Summer provides well for children in terms of materials.
Honestly this school is still one of very low fees for Montessori and transparent too with updates on the blog. School bus service fee also kept the same even for children coming from street 65. I pay $60 one way to school.
So let’s support the school as we need something like this in Jurong! : ) -

RE: All About Montessori
Hi Yellow Belt,
I paid $380 for 12 sessions of Enrichment at Summer Montessori. You can be absent for 1 class and 1 MC with refund or prorate the next Term. Think they are reasonable and fair. I also heard that they are full house.
