I think i found a more concise way to present the risk for 2B.

      see below:

      https://s22.postimg.cc/l1o9pq3fl/2_B_risk_colour_coded.jpg\">

I colour-coded it this round. if you see:
      - green, it meant last year needed balloting for >2km SC
      - yellow, it meant last year needed balloting for 1-2km SC
      - Red, it meant last year needed balloting for within 1km SC
      - CHIJ st nic was orange - all SC within 2km in last year
      - Maris stella - blue - all SC in last year
      - grey, its for those with shortfall this year but no balloting was conducted last year. - you can see also the difference between 2017 and 2018 vacancies.
      - those not coded in colour are those with small buffer (10 or less) so it has a considerably amount of risk.

So how you can read the table - if its green last year and this year fallen number of vacancies - it may turn yellow or red this year. Grey and shortfall will mean, it may be a case needed for balloting this year.
All the 17 schools mentioned by MOE on 2b balloting results 2017 has a fallen vacancies except CHIJ tpy, and the other 2 with increased vacancies for the above are nan hua and fairfield.

for the post for the whole list see here: https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=84544&start=1300#p1857463

All the best for the 2B folks.

can i ask about Maris Stella , when you mentioned SC all in, does it mean that even those outside 2km ?
      Thanks

I would like to understand more about phase 2a(2).

      (a) For a child whose parent or sibling has studied in the primary school of choice.

The \"sibling\", in the case is referring to who's sibling? The parent's sibling ? ( Sorry silly question).
Suppose if the parents have alumni of xx school and the parents' sibling has study another, YY, school, can i enrol my child to YY school instead ?

      Child's sibling. Not parent's sibling.
Means the child that is going to enrol has a brother/ sister who already graduated from that school (big age gap)

      Oh ...thanks !

PTL!!! We got into CHS!!! Could not sleep last night... Kept waking up to check for SMS. The SMS just said we secured a place in CHS and gave us a NOV date for reporting.

Just curious, how much is the alumni fee ?

      Hello Everyone,

My boy will be fall in the 2020 in-take.
I have dilemma in my decision.

We stay in TPY, and it happened that my DH is alumni of HPPS.
Distance b/w our house to HPPS is more than 10km. So far i have checked with the appointed school bus service, there is no bus service around my area to HPPS.

While it is possible to send my boy to school in the morning, fetching him in the afternoon is a challenge.
Also if there are days whereby my DH cannot send DS to school, it will be also an issue.

Should i continue to consider HPPS ?
      Other options i am considering MSHS ( 2C - but outside 2km)
      Backup option KCS ( 2C- within 1KM)

What are the available transport options i have if i remain to stay in TPY and opt for HPPS ?

Care to share with me your point of view ? :imdrowning:

MSHS is option may not be feasible. usually close up within 2km.
if you are staying near KC, you should be near to Pei Chun.

if you decide to stay in TPY and opt for HPPS, may have to consider after school care. Think the school has one.

Pei chun is out. Balloting is a sure thing.
Yes. After school care is another headache. To choose within the school or choose area with TPY.

Better to consider schools nearer to your home. It is yet to be seen if there is balloting for MSHS within 2km as Bidadari estate is developing. When your child gets older (around Pri 3), there are CCAs to consider and dismissals would be between 3pm - 5pm. So you do need to plan for this when the time comes.

The other options would be to move nearer to HPPS.
      Hope this helps.

I am abit reluctant to move house.
May i know if there is any transport alternative or private bus services ?
What are my chances or MSHS in 2C ? Need ballot ?
