RE: Stationery and School bags
Hi just want to ask if schoolbags from Smiggle are ok for
P1 kids ?
They are cheaper than SPI or Lego bags. Are they sturdy enough and roomy enough for folders?
Thanks -

Hi
I think if your daughter understands what multiplication and division means and is able to apply what she has learnt, there is no harm learning the timetables if she is willing and has a good memory.
In fact knowing the timetables well will help her later on .
My daughter’s tutor has taught her multiplication and she is able to learn the timetables as she has a good memory -

Just wondering why there is PE so many days in a week? How long is each PE session.
When does swimming start ?
My daughter loves any physical activity rather than sit down all the time . She has so much energy. So I think would suit her fine . -

Hi thanks for the tip .Better to learn to buy food while there’s somebody to help. The faster she learns to be independent the better for mummy . Then I won’t worry as much.
Will just let her bring a small favourite snack, then. -

Hi emebabe
I think I 'll be packing my girl’s food as well.I 'm not sure she knows how to buy from the canteen and she’s picky about her food too .She’s my first child going to primary school , so I feel more ’ Kan ‘cheong’.I hope she knows how to take care of herself and her belongings . She can be very blur! and too happy go lucky.
I think catechism classes are conducted in school and the non Catholic children do not have to baptise and become Catholics . It’s your choice . -

My DD will be starting P 1 in 2015 MCS . Am feeling both nervous and excited . How the years fly. They grow up so fast .
me too!
we registered her under phase 2C and secured a place :rahrah: i'm hoping for her to take up rhythmic gymnastics (as i had in my previous school) and hope it will help to stretch her out (she's very , very small and short for her age)lol
Hi nice to know another MCS parent.
Just three more months to P 1 .
Rhythmic gymnastics should be very good exercise for your girl .She's very young and still lots of time to grow.Does she do ballet too ? I heard that training can be quite tough. I guess you can guide her as you used to do rhythmic gym.too.
I wonder if CCA in primary school is compulsory.
Don't know if my Dd can wake up early for school .She eats very slowly and takes her own sweet time. -

Sembgal Thank u for the feedback and info abt MCS. It’s very helpful for parents with DDs entering P1.
I’m pleased to hear that MCS has caring and nurturing teachers . I always believe most important are the teachers . Good teachers will motivate and bring out the best in our kids.
Do other primary schools have remedial lessons in P 1 ? Or only MCS?
Think remedial lessons are a good idea for kids who need it.Its always better to build a strong foundation early before the schoolwork gets harder in later years.
Will also improve overall academic of school.
