RE: GEP 2012 - Screening & Selection
If the current sch is already a GEP centre, can we opt for a switch to another GEP sch? Automatic transfer for younger sibling as well?

RE: All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools

Mummies & daddies,
What is your take on affiliated Pri/sec school? Is it really that important? Say now you have a chance to be transferred to another Pri sch with affiliated sec sch, would you do that? I have a P1 & P3 this year. -
RE: GEP 2012 - Screening & Selection

I am quite sure that number is not the total of round 2 students, it should be the serial number for that particular school. Reason being heard that there are about 80 children qualified for round 2 from his school and the number on DS's slip is way smaller than 80.kiasurian:
Hi My DS also in, but the teacher didn't announce how many of them were selected. I saw right lower corner of the letter with the school code then a number 16. Anyone know is this a serial number or the total of the round 2 student? He is from the neighborhood school in the East.
Maybe papakiasu, octoberbaby, kgaihc, kipper or 24hr_mum can help to confirm the figure on the test slip based on their knowledge of how many students in school getting in for selection test? -

Does the school call the parents or they just inform the child during class time?HyperKiasu:
looks like round 1 result not yet released. If not released today or tmr, then it has to be next week as No school on Friday and no lesson on Thurs (Children's Day Celebration).
Result out.
My DS got in and quite a number of his classmates(mixed ability class) also qualify. -

Ksmummy,A safe bet would be 95% & abv on average at end of P2.
Scotia,
How do you know about the ranking for mid year? Thought the sch do not disclose it for mid year? Even for year-end, only the top 5 will be disclosed!!!
It's top 5? ohh... I thought top 3...
My girl got total average 95%, also no \"shadow\" for class top 5. :faint:
:rotflmao:
Top 3 is the official ranking, i.e. receiving award. Number 4 & 5 could be depending on teachers - that's what happened for my ds class. However, no ranking will be recorded in the report book. -
My gal in p1 this yr, I would like to check with the more experience parents here....what scores are needed to be in d top 2 classes of P3? 90points for each subjects can make it?
Hi, I had this question in mind too.. my girl in P2 this year. She scored 90+ for all the 3 subjects last year, but did not even manage to get top 3 in her class.. :slapshead:
After this year ended, may be u can share with us your experience.
Till mid yr, my dd is one of the top 10 in her class but there r total of 10classes of P1 for 2012 right? So being top 10 also can't guarantee a place for d first two classes of I & A, becos heard from others that they only picked the top 80 students?
So what scores are gd enough to get in I & A? :?
A safe bet would be 95% & abv on average at end of P2.
