RE: Rosyth
Which level is your son in? My P1 received his timetable (printed) from his FT last Tuesday. Also, he has 3 days of PE every week.

RE: All About Parent Volunteers (PV)
Cartier:
I signed up as PV in 2007, think the sch took in 30 PVs, subsequently I know a couple of them dropped out and the sch took in another 9 for 2003 kids in yr 2008.
Ksmummy
I am curious to know how many PVs were chosen during your time? Is there a chairman/chairwoman of the PV group to oversee all the PVs?
Not that I know of a chairman/woman to oversees PVs. -
RE: All About Parent Volunteers (PV)
happy to be mum:
I registered in Rosyth during 2B this year (heng ah, no need to ballot) cos I am staying just opp the sch.Hi ksmummy,
me graduated from yu neng in 88..ya...i heard alot of good comment abt it also...and they have been producing 275 students for the past few yrs. i guess most likely i will settle there. when do you need to register yr kids?
we can only register once in a phrase....hence if i register in phrase 2a already cannot try for st hilda at phrase 2c...this is what i understand.
You are right, what I meant is secured a seat in Yu Neng during Phase 2A first, then assess the odds in St Hilda's during 2C. If you think you have a high chance in 2C, then withdrawal from Yu Neng and register in St Hilda. But looking at past balloting history of St Hilda's , chicken me would not take the chance..... But thats just me....
Good luck to you. -

hihi, I am from Yu Neng also. Graduated in '87. You? Heard that it is quite popular now in Bedok, other than Red Swatiska.thanks for all the post..at least my doubts are answered. i need to register my boy for P1 next yr...hence now thinking whether to take the risk at Phrase 2C this yr cuz me staying less than 1km from St Hilda...
initially was hoping and praying hard can be accepted as PV so can secure the place...Pv+less than 1km...most likely can get it...but now contemplating whether to take risks at Phrase 2c next year! or to be safe...go to my ex-school in Yu Neng (Phrase 2A?) though not \"hot\" sch..but i heard people telling me it is good and my sis's boys were from there...and both went to SAP schs in secondary.. any advice? risk or not risk!? can donations still work for some schools???
i do agree with some of the posts...connections does counts alot! how i wish i know the principals of those hot schs!! & i do still believe schs will chose those parents who are better educated...high flying positions than the normal one like us....it is sad but true...
If I were you, I would register in Yu Neng in Phase 2A first, then see what are the odds like in St Hilda in 2C. Decide from there. -

RE: [Serangoon] Primary Schools
Cartier:
thank you, thank you!!!!Hi KSMUMMY
Congratulations!
Do you have any idea how is Rosyth transitting into a single session school as the intake is huge? Heard any plans of the school expanding or will it reduce future intake?
Once again, happy for you
Thanks a lot.
From what I know, Rosyth will be reducing intake gradually, definitely not one of the early batch to convert to single session any time soon, given the school's mega size..... Schools have up to 2015/2016, right??
