He was generally good in other subjects. any tips fellow kiasu parents????Just curious as to why you opted for Malay?If Malayalam is the spoken language at home , why did'nt you opt for Tamil? I think Malayalam is a bit similar to Tamil, no?Not to demoralise but honestly , learning a language and not having an environment can be very tough. especially towards upper primary and more in Secondary, when there is hardly enough time pend on MT.DSA would be a good option if he is advanced in one subject.Set some bite sized target with improvements so that he can see progress. If you can talk to his teacher and explain , she could guide you. Small growths can act as big encouragements. Dont underestimate the power of memorising when it comes to languages. It is not going to make one an expert in the language, but it will provide the tools necessary for scoring around ave marks.Also check that the stress of P5 is making him take it out on MT. Be with him, listen to him. Sometimes we do not have to solve their problems, we just have to show that we support and care for them.
