RE: Q&A - PSLE English
to valeri : ya. My son is also worried that he wrote out of point. Hahaha my son wrote a model compo for his class about a fire outbreak. So he copied the exact same compo. Turns out 1 of his other friend wrote the same compo too! Pray that they both have diff markers!

RE: Q&A - PSLE English
My son wrote about a fire alarm being the strange noise. Is that accepted? Cos his tuition teacher told him that it is fine as we don’t hear fire alarms everyday and it could be strange to some. I’m still not sure… Anyway he said paper 2 is easy!

No idea! But there is another chat box in the facebook community page. Thanks karmeleon.
Any idea why they remove that box, perhaps getting too loud? -

good for him.
I didn't say he wasn't going to.lalala:
Since your kid got accepted to NJC, why dont he take the offer? Its a 6 yr IP programme. -

Ya my son's friend took the NJC test. It was the HAST.
Actually the NJC test is similar to SST's. So I doubt your child would have been stressed up. SST's camp was on 18July & 1st Aug, so depends on which day your child's SST camp was on. If his was 1st Aug, then yes, it clash with NJC's camp. My son's also, but he took his at SST a day before going for NJC's camp. This kind of thing - no harm asking if it's arrangeable.lalala:
my boy did not apply for NJC as we did not want to put so much stress on our kid, running here and there. I thought the camp was on the same day too?

we kinda got the dates mixed up, we thought it was 26 November, same day as when psle results came out. HaiHai, which means he was not even familiar with the DSA process when he applied? You were also not aware?
Did he apply for NJC under DSA also?
My boy applied both and he was prepared to accept either, and as parents, we just had to respect his choices.
SST is just an unknown step with no history. But with SST being a govt initiative, I doubt it will be poorly setup. Surely they would want to make it a success.
Did your child voice any opinions on this? Is the dilemma his or yours?

I'm sure SST would not be a total flop, with NTU and NP professors mentorshop, advanced applied learning modules and the future@school status.
This delimma is actually his, as he wants to go to SST but does not know if it is actually a good school -

you just described eveything im worried about. My son decided to apply for SST without the knowledge that he had to choose whether he wanted to enrol in it before the release of the PSLE results. Now he is in a delimma. He decided that he would give up on the offer and concentrate on his PSLE so that he can get in NJC etc. But he is still thinking.I gather that those who applied to SST and have been given a place are having second thoughts?
You have up to 26 oct to decide right?
After that, presuming you give SST a positive answer, but after PSLE results are released and your child does well enough to get to his dream school, previously thought to be unreachable, can he still reject his confirmed application and go for his dream school? -
RE: Victoria School
Victoria seems like an ideal school to everyone. Good acamdemics, polite students, fun and vibrant culture, affiliation to the 3rd best JC( if it’s still afiliated),good CCAs records and the enviroment is not too stressful as the students dot compete with each other(unlike RI).
There has also been talks that VS will be part of VJC for a IP programme and VJC has a all girls school.
