Hi yellow belt
Ask if they have alternative bus that can fetch yr kid. There are 2 or 3 pickup services for same area. I was lucky to have a later pickup time. Previous 1st pickup now last:)
Some Alternatives may be longer routes …

My son has attended behavioral class in school and I can see slight improvements … Thanks to the teachers of YZPS. Sometimes it needs external parties to help resolve issues:)

RE: Grumpy school bus driver
My son changed school bus this year, so far no complains , school bus driver said my son is behaving… Glad that I could find alternative to solve the issues:) maybe could be the chemistry … Hmmmm…
I called the school bus company to feedback direct about the previous bus driver…
It works more effectively than going through the school’S office manager !!! Who is not helping to investigate the issues efficiently! After 1 year of numerous feedbacks. -
RE: How to self-teach your child to focus and pay attention?
I tried various methods, the most effective so far for my 4, 6 & 8 yrs sons is by creating a. Corner for study or reading only. Tv are to be switched off to minimize distractions. This does not work all the time. But it has at least improved the situation 70 to 80%.
Focus On praising the child on the things they have done correctly ANd not to emphasize on the mistakes. Guide them when they have made a mistake.
Let them know the consequences if they do not focus and do their work fast. Take away their favorite toy or favorite activity when they refused to focus on home work. This works better compared to physical punishment. A lot of patience is needed as this method takes a month or so to kick in.
Reduce tv or electronics devices exposure helps too. Not saying to take aWay 100% to deprive them from enjoyment but to limit the time e.g half hour to 1 hr is god enough twice a week.
Just have to be persistent, patience, and make sure everyone uses the same teaching method. It will not work if someone interferes with the opposite. -
Grumpy school bus driver
My son is a p1 kid and is taking school bus to school. The bus driver has been making numerous complains about my boy misbehaving in the bus. We have taken disciplinary actions & have been educating him about importance of safety while in a bus. bus driver has given a few threatens that he would want to terminate our engagement.
Does anyone faces similar challenges?
Just wonder is it not in the regulatory system to have a helper in the bus to assist & calm the kids in the school bus? -
RE: How to self-teach your child to focus and pay attention?
I think training your kids to play puzzle or building legos is a good way to teach them to be focus.
Sit down with them and guide them the 1st & 2nd time. You can tell once they master how they do it independently they will be very interested to complete the puzzel / Lego.
I tried Lego for my 7th old son with the star wars Lego. And my 5yr old son with jigsaw puzzle and both methods worked.
Praise and give encouragements. They will feel more confconfident. Soon they will want you to buy them more… -
RE: Defiant kid/ anger management
Thank you all for sharing your valuable views. Appreciated.
I will try out the suggested method.
Perhaps bring him out on 1-1 basis may help.
He may feel rivalry competition from the other 2 younger brothers… maybe we should work on the re-assessing the disciplinary actions for the 3 brothers. -
RE: Skin allergies
Just brought my son to Demotologist today.
Possibility it is due to insect bites. Sensitive skins tends to spread to other areas around the bitten spot.
Any recommendations on child safe anti-insect prevention? -
RE: Defiant kid/ anger management
Most of the time he knows how to do his work when I test him at home.
But he has become more physical especially recently. He does fight with his 2 younger brothers.
