janet88:Don't be overly stressed about it. All sec 1 students find humanities subjects new to them. So it is a level playing field at least. And they will slowly get the hang of those subjects.
my stress comes from the difficulty of the subjects especially humanities.

RE: 8 Junior Colleges are Merging? Rumors or Reality?
mindays:
Actually it is not uncommon that class sizes go above 40. I have heard of classes which are 44/45.
Most secondary schools (Express) will have a class size of 35 to 40. In JCs, most will hover around 20 to 25 students per class
However, there is official statistics released by MOE on the average class size:

Looking at how other places are doing, we should count our blessings that Singapore is safe so far.

Oh nice. You specially travel there to shoot? Although not the safest place, but the experience is something money cannot buy.

RE: Which is your most preferred credit card?
OCBC 365 used to be good until they cut the rates… twice. I have been using POSB everyday card for the cashback.
Anyone knows what is the best card for cashback? I don’t travel often, so not getting any cards for the miles. -
RE: JC or Poly?
Actually many students performing well go Poly too. I have friends who are top performers during O levels and choose to go Poly. That is because they clearly know what they want to do. I think the child must know what they want to do in the future, or what course they want to take at least when they enter Poly.
A case in point, my ex-student just started PFP course in poly. Only a week into the course, she told me she is thinking of changing course as she don’t find it suitable for her.
Of course having said that, kids who go JC must also make the decision on the course to pursue when they enter uni. Similarly, some will regret their choice. But been wiser (older!) and having seen more, hopefully they can make informed choices. -

Decided to try the \"1-star\" Canto chix mee at his 2nd Smith Street outlet. It's like a fast food joint. Well...as u can see from my pics...the taste is...
Actually, along Upper Cross St, there is a shop selling soy-chicken too. Forgot the name of the stall. In my opinion it is as good as the 1-star mich stall, just less the queue. -

Wow longreach, you take really nice photos! You do this for a living? I seldom heard of people going to Ghana. -
