RE: DSA 2014
Gxmas:
But there have been successful cases of MS DSAed into RI via academics, no? Maybe just a couple, but not zero for every year right?
It is a secret. Maybe several, maybe zero.phtthp:
ds classmates from MS all get reject letter from RI last fri.
From above listing so far, seems like for initial round 1 before National day release -
RI take in Geppers first, remaining places need to wait until PSLE over, results released, then go to Mainstream, with high PSLE T score.
That is why in round 1, your ds classmates from MS all get rejection letters from RI. They just have to focus in preparing for their PSLE -

Thanks ksp.
It's just like the COE system. The fewer the COE available, the higher the price. In chinese we say 物以稀为贵.KSP:

Oic. Thanks. Actually come to think of it, the cut off points for some schools are high because they absorb a lot from DSA and affiliated school, hence the vacancy slots left are only a handful. Thus, the cut off will be high. No wonder it makes it tough to get it. Thanks thanks :imcool:
I agree the statement above applies to Nygh and not others because they take in half of the cohort through Dsa and others through affiliation cop 25x.
In light of the above, I m wondering which are the 'some schools' with a handful of vacancy slots left for S1 posting?
NUSH, four hands at most, :imcool:
RI, HCI, NYGS, and RGS, each forty hands?
But there are about 50,000 pupils. -
Hmm. Can I ask an off track question? I just knew that some primary have affiliation and can enter their sec school with a lower psle score. Does that mean they will be given priority to get a place in the school first and then the balance vacancy is open up based on psle t-score? Is it like this?
Yes.
But not only NYGH... -

It is normal.
RI always opens doors for all of them (including EStone) in PSLE. So do not give up! -
RE: DSA 2014
PSLE2014:
There are 6 GEP (appox 180) classes in RI. More than 60% GEPpers went to the R- schools lah.
Based on last yr batch, 2 GEP classes in NYGH ( appx 40) and the bulk still goes to MS. For RGS, 5 GEP classes ( appx 150). Class size for RGS is more than NYGH. But heard NYGH P conduct Fiesta Day to win the Gepper parents over.

Snow Crystal:
Thanks! I misunderstood again. DSA is a nice route for DS to enter his dream school.:congrats: to all KSP and their DCs who received COs... what a relief especially if the CO is from dream school.... yippee hip hip hurray for your DC...
Special note to EStone - you are such a sensible boy !! Wishing you a score of >260 to enter your dream school! Your parents should be so proud of you... *thumbs up*
Leooel - So far no kid here has 5COs. It was mentioned 5 GEP (?) boys who scored well in their exams received WLs. Some GEP kids are put on WLs for their dream school, which means they also have to go through S1 exercise like MS kids. All the best to your DC - perhaps your good news may be coming soon.
Happy national day for every KSP and DC!

Positive Energy:
Can someone advice what is the possibility of NUSH wait list getting converted to CO?
I hearsaid last year NUSH only gave handful WLs. Due to most GEPpers will choose RI. Therefore, NUSH's WLs is more easily converted to COs, I think.
Not sure. There still quite some GEPpers gave up COs from RI, and went to NUSH last year.leooel:
Theoretically, very few would give up a CO from RI
So chances of converting WL to CO should be quite low
Just speculating. I dont know for sure of course
Anyway, WL is better than rejected. IF you still hope the enter RI, you have better place than the rejected DS. -
