    • RE: Stationery and School bags

Sorry, very busy till i forgot to post this…

A while back, the bros decided to do a research regarding this matter.
All of us got young kids lah.
We want THE bag that will protect our kids’ spine.
We decided that the followings are important,
1:Spine protection, 2: Quality of the bag 3: Weight of bag, 4: Value for money.

      1: Spine protection.
Can you BEND the bag from TOP to the bottom?
We found that many of the so called ergonomic bags failed this most important test.
A good ergonomic bag need to be like a good light weight hiking bag that protect the spine at all time.

      2: Quality of the bag.
Are the straps padding and back cushion lasting? we even did a simple SMELL the fabric test, which is quite hilarious (some of these bags smell of thick plastic!). Warranty. even the zip (my neighbor has a local bag starts with S… has all the zips turn rusty! gosh!)

      3: Weight.
This was the hardest part for us to get through coz we kept thinking, AS LIGHT AS POSSIBLE. It was funny cause one of the bros remarks, if we want light then might as well use NTUC plastic bag, it is the lightest! We agreed an real ergonomic bag will not be the lightest bag around cause of the added features.
Our conclusion: Spine protection features > Light weight. But of course the bag must not be crazy heavy also.

      4: Value for money.
When we say Value for money, it does not mean cheap. In fact a cheap bag will cost you more in the long run. One of the brothers brought 3 bags in a year cause the cushion wore off, strap tore off. He paid 100+ from another local well known bag, even with so called trade in n discount, he spent $200-300 and faces the headache of buying another soon.

We decided that the best bag to buy is Ergobag.
1: They uses the same hiking system spine protection as professional hiking bag.
2: The strap and back cushion, 3M reflector on bag, base of the bag, and 2 years warranty plus 1 more year warranty if u register online with ergobag Germany.
3: It is a bit heavier than the few we tested, but as we said, spine protection features will add some weight to the bag.
4: $199 for 3 years warranty. No bag companies in Singapore gives that. Recently my kid stepped on the buckle, they changed it for us FOC. The bag comes with 4 Kletties which we can change. my kids design their own. kind of fun. If their spine get injured, I be spending more $.
(So glad the boss was around when we visited the shop, non stop questioning from us! )

The other 3 bags we thought we ok were
1: Deuter: but only those that cant bend from Top to bottom. Around 119, no warranty.
2: buddy: for the same price we rather take ergobag. and buddy is dull and heavy.
3: Mcneil, Diededas, Scouts : pricey coz they come as a set. but can be a bit too kiddy.
3a: there is Bam from ergobag also. it is like the cheaper version of ergobag. but all the kids didnt quite like the design. if ur kid dun mind the design, GET IT. $139, its the best low price bag u can get. coz of the warranty, grab.

One last thing, there is strength in numbers, the bros got it together, ke, hope u got my hint.

Needless to say, I got ergobag for my kids!
Took us a while to research on all the bags in Singapore.
I will post our findings soon here.

      AGREE!

if they do not have, its a matter of comparison between having and not having with their friends. if they do have it will be a competition to see who has the newest gadget. is it really fine to introduce the concept of materialism to them so young?I dont think so...

I like D700 coz it is small enough for the kids to play.

      I like D3s ISO n picture quality.
I cant see any reason to add another cam body to my collection without selling one of them...
      pain....

Took me a while to post this. Atwood & Ergoworks are selling different tables but under the same manufacturer! KuangShin. I finally figured this out after much traveling n questionings! When I called Ben from Ergoworks, he kept insisting that their tables are called "Impact" but if u look closely at it, it is from KuangShin! He kept saying it is different from Atwood. I made my trip to Atwood (without the kids this time) to clarify this n see their new range of tables. They were honest enough to tell me their tables are from KuangShin, they did not repackage the table under their own name. They told me their tables n Ergoworks’ are from KS! just different model. What a shock! Shocked coz Ergoworks kept denying, till Atwood verified. Shocked coz of the price gap but almost the same product, just different model. Therefore for those who intend to buy KS products, go Atwood, it is much cheaper! As for the package n all, u have to see what works for you.

How about me? I didnt get from the both of them, ke. I went for Kid2Youth. Personal choice lah, service, value for money & product look.
