I am also monitoring KH. We stay within 1km of the school. No wonder when I called up to ask if I could do PV the school told me that they will call me if they need me... Turns out even if do PV there is no gurantee that my DS will ge a place there...

Actually if you look at their past history, all 2B within 1km got in without balloting. Its only this year that is exceptionally and now sure will this be the trend for the next few days since intake will probably increase as years go by.

Try to offer help on weekly basis. They need parent volunteers for regular activities such as English reading, Chinese reading.

No priority. Everyone starts fresh. Distance still plays a part.

PV works doesl not guarantee a place. But if you are doing it, try making it more than 40 hours. The school will appreciate it. I did PV in yr 2009-2010, but was not lucky in the ballots in phase 2B cause we were outside 1km. However, was offerred a place in the late Nov 2010. Apparently, clocking more than 40 hours do help.

My son has been accepted in TKPS. TKPS is in a good neighbourhood. I think our children will have fun in learning in TKPS. I am a mother who encourages my son to pursue excellence in everything he does, not to achieve fame or fortune, but for himself. So I think TKPS is a good match for him. The school which I volunteered previously, is pushing their children so hard so as to win medals. To them, winning is everything, that’s why I change my mind.

TKPS has "international" syllabus, standard might not be as high as Ngee Ann.
