    • RE: Using mindfulness to cope with our stressful lives

Mindfulness has always been the talk of school and part of parenting techniques these days. Just sharing the upcoming program my child's yoga school is conducting during the holidays period. For more information, you can refer to the flyer. :goodpost:

Thanks Schootopia. Hopefully cancer can wait for that long without deteriorating. Anything else that could be done, for example, food to take to speed up the process of correcting the hyper thyroidism?

Hi, For hyperthyroidism, there's no food to speed up the correcting process (a fren is an endocrinologist) so to speak. Generally you can do whatever you normally do, but if you really want to do something specially, you can try avoiding foods rich in potassium like seaweed. The important thing is more of NOT missing your medication. Get a pill box. If you do forget, the doc would have advised you to take the missed dose once you remember, even if it overlaps with the following dose, I suppose? Thyroid storm IS very dangerous; otherwise thyroid is non-threatening. Yup, our forummers are right, listen to your docs. Adjusting the dosage could take 3 to 6 months' time, since everyone's body reacts differently. Yoga is recommended by this doc fren for destressing. Get well soon & remember not to forget your medication.

I agree that Yoga can help destress and helps to regulate the thyroid hormones. My gf benefited from Yoga as she suffers from hyperthyroidism

    • RE: Yoga, For Weight Loss.

Both me and hubby lost weight and tone up through practice of ashtanga yoga. Light and detox is how we feel after each session so no doubt you will lose weight through regular classes :imcool:

    • RE: All About Yoga for Kids

I went to Ohmsantih Yoga school as I saw CNA interviewing the founder, Teacher War War. Initially, we wanted to enrol our DD, however we ended up signing our DS up as well. This school is pretty interesting. The teachers are very patient and we find them very intuitive towards the children. My 2 children refuse to leave the school after the first trial class and I think there is genuinely some positive energy within the school. I also found my DS benefiting a lot from the classes, a good example would be his posture. He is much more aware and now he will never slouch and I can see his effort in trying not to. A big part of their kids yoga course is also the emphasis on mindfulness and the teachers make this concept very fun and interesting. Very often, our DS speaks about the classes to his cousins and at gatherings, he would be very enthusiastically showing what he learnt. I would highly recommend Ohmsantih Yoga Kids Yoga to any parents who might be considering Yoga for your children. Do check them out as passionate teachers and positive vibe giving institutions are pretty rare these days.
