Hi April. Welcome to Singapore. You are in Singapore permanently?

Dnls_mum:rws having a promotion package and equarius hotel is one of the hotel selection (or hard rock/hotel michel)! I just think that festive seems a fun-er deal with loft bed and all. promo price is $408 for 1 night stay during june holidays. includes 2 tickets to USS or water cove or SEA!
I sure hope it is just as good now too :). But manage your expectations. It is a standard tourist class maybe 4 star hotel, not 5 star. I would have like equarius, but not prepared to pay such price for staycation.
I hv no idea what other programs lah. My kids always just hang around at home and entertain themselves. Holiday is really a break for them. Actually also because I don't want to trouble my parents who have to ferry them when they were young. Now the older ones in sec school, really have a lot of their own program.
Dnls_mum:hi dnls mum! i hope its still good as new now 3 yrs later! just went to buy the tickets for the legendary bubbles show at festive grand today! i just want to keep him occupied during holidays, else he is just playing computer games all day long. or do you have any activities to recommend?
We stayed at Festive Hotel family room 3 years back and liked it a lot. I've booked another 2 nites at Festive again this June for our staycation. We plan to do the whole works this time, USS, Sea Aquarium and the water park :). But since we just did Universal Orlando last dec, we are likely to just do USS selectively
So many parents here send kids for holiday programs. I for one have never done that with any of my kids ever at all, all these years and my DS1 already 16....hahaha
my boy is taking his psle this year so not going away for june holidays. last june we went gold coast to take advantage of the cold weather which was really nice. he enjoyed all the theme parks, catch-a-crab, glow worm cave and outback performance which was really outstanding! the fruit farm was too boring for him and we only went around on a tractor, no fruits picking.
planning for a staycation at sentosa this june as his birthday falls in june. likely getting the water theme park package. planning to select festive holiday as the family room looks fun with the loft bed! anyone has stayed at festive before? is it good?
planning his other activities for rest of the month. already made booking for act 3 international drama program as he enjoys speech and drama. last december i signed him up for all three robotics program at CTW, he had fun, but i think they are more or less the same so not likely to let him go for it again this time. hoping to let him try rock climbing, so i posted to look for other kids to form a group at kinetics climbing! if he does it alone, wouldn’t be so fun. please let me know if anyone is keen.
that’s two weeks of activities done. still deciding on the other two!
I learnt in the last 12 years that being a mother is a learning process. I wasn't ready when I had my boy at 21 so I learn along the way. I realised one can never be perfectly ready to be a mother. There is no single way to be a perfect mother, but a million ways to be a good one. Hi all, I'm a single mom of a 12 year old boy.
Everyday I think I reach the height of my patience tolerance limit, But the next day this limit gets tested and breached again. Most of my friends around me are starting to have babies. When they start to complain having backaches and nauseous spells or heavy with 8 months and tired, I ask them to enjoy them. When they start to complain their babies crying at night or putting everything they touch into their mouth, I ask them to enjoy them. When they start to complain about them walking everywhere poking their fingers into crook or crevice in the house, I ask them to enjoy them. Because these to me, are just the tip of an iceberg. Beginnings of the dream that will turn into a.....nightmare (tongue in cheek, I love my boy, though he has horns and only looks like an angel when sleeping).
I try to be a cool mom and don't nag. But it's really hard. Then again, I know I have try my best to be a good friend because I heard secondary school is another kind of nightmare all together. So to be a good friend, I learn and play clash of clans on ipad and mine craft on computer. I watch gumball and ogi and cockroach cartoons.
I have been grappling with the daily issues of a 12 year old like lying about homework, attitudes. Everyday is a mental challenge. As I don't have close friends with kids this age, I grab almost everyone I meet with kids this age to talk about my problems and hope to learn something to handle my son better. Still learning! Aware about this forum for years but hardly come in. Finally decided to join this forum because I was planning for his June holidays program and needed some activity partners together.
Before I end, will like to share this youtube video link I watched recently. It is a good reminder for me to appreciate the gift of an ordinary day and what else that may come into my life as my son continues to grow older. Watch it too if you are free! And see you all around..

Hi parents! I'm planning out my 12 year old boy's June holiday programs. And keen to let him try out rock climbing. After evaluating, Kinetics Climbing looks like the best option.
They have a 'Climbing Kinetics' group course which consists of 4 two-hour lessons at $160. Includes gym entry and equipment. So I'm trying to form a group of 4 children of around the same age for effective learning together. The timings will be:
- 3 June, 4 to 6pm
- 4 6 June, 3 to 5pm
The place is in Paya Lebar. School and course details:

Please let me know if any of you are keen to take it up together!
