    • RE: Meditation for mental health

I had to travel a lot between timezones for work which really stressed my body out and meditation really helped. I’ve never stopped meditating daily since I first tried it out. It only takes 20-30mins in the morning for me

    • RE: All About Life Without Maids

I am a soon to be first time mom with no helper and not planning to get one even with the baby. My husband is korean and strongly against getting a helper since not in his culture. (but he also not willing to help much with housework…)Thankful that this thread was here as I could read and get some advice. The xiaomi robot is really wonderful with both sweeping (and we have a dog that sheds a lot…) and mopping.

Is there anything else that we should do that would make our life easier when the baby comes since I know things need to be cleaner with a baby around - is a UV sterilizer worth buying? There will be more milk bottle washing and baby laundry right? Anything else in terms of housework?

    • RE: Club Wild Wild West (From Bukit Merah to Tuas)

Hi everyone! I just joined kiasuparents, am living in Tiong Bahru area and currently expecting my first child due in around 1 month!

Have no clue and not much prep done at all, no idea what to buy or how to prepare for newborn. We won’t have any help at all from either side parents and no helper so I am hoping someone could advice me on any nannies available in the Bukit Merah area? We are also looking at infant care options and I’ve managed to book a place but still on the fence about it. Do babies really get sick a lot from infant care? Any advice from experienced parents welcome!

    • RE: Childcare near Zion, Alexandra, Havelock, Tiong Bahru

      Hi,

Being the typical kiasu mom I just went to look at a few child care centres in the Tiong Bahru area even though my kid is only due in June. I was mostly looking at infant care but they usually have a childcare centre attached. I did a tour of Hampton Pre-school and Bambini Montessori just this month.
      Both looked really good.
MY World at Boon Tiong was really rude and rejected any tour which is quite suspicious since the others were willing.
I managed to book a place at Bambini almost immediately with just a deposit. They just extended the space for IFC which used to be combined with childcare but now are separate, which probably means the childcare side would have more space too, maybe will have a chance to accept more children now.
