His mattress is not very old. I couldn’t find any bugs on the bed. As bed bugs are visible. Is it a kind of allergy?

    • RE: All P2 will change classes in P3(depending on their result)?

      Thanks phttp.

I have just verified with his form teacher and apparently, she said is NOT based on results for the 3rd to 6th classes. They are all average. Since she did not mention the 1st and 2nd class, I assumed the 1st and 2nd class are the good ones as they might be taking higher mother tongue.

According to her, she said 3.3 is as good as 3.6. Class 3.3 to 3.6 are all average ability students. Not sure is it true. Sometimes they will not reveal to the parents.

According to my colleague who has went through this said in P4 they will be streamed again. So have to really work hard for P3 and P4 to go to a better class if now he’s in average class.

      Hi phtthp,

Is this an old system as you mentioned some schools has removed this system?

      Are parents informed about this?

Isn't it demoralising for the kids as they are grouped based on their ability?

      phtthp:
      darwinkoh:

Based on their P2 results only? i.e. P1 results wont be considered at all?

I was expecting P1 results will be considered though at a lower weightage as compared to P2 results.

It is based entirely only on end of P2 academic results (Total Weighted from P2 beginning Term 1 to end of Year Term 4), for the 3 subjects (English, Maths, Mother tongue)

No, primary schools do not take into consideration P1 results at all. Zero weightage taken from P1

      P2 : 30 pupils, per class
But come P3 : become 40+ pupils, per class
(re-shuffle students, to become a bigger P3 class)

      for P3
some schools still have Top (2 or 3) classes (eg : based on Top 80 or 120 pupils from entire P2 cohort results),
whereas other schools had removed / abolished Top few Mainstream classes : all become Mixed Ability classes, instead.
best to find out how your own school, operate

      some schools quite particular
They pull out those strong in Chinese, goto attend Higher Chinese class.
best to find out from your own school : how they define pupils as \"strong in Chinese\" ?
