Thanks all for the suggestion. Will practice more with assessment book and mconline. I think I will try to incorporate the math idea in daily conversation with her too. With real life activities, maybe it will help her to understand the qns better.

Just to share here. I was shocked yesterday when I received my DD math assessment report from school… The number comparison skill was barely at the start stage after assessment. It did surprised me as DD doesn’t seems to have problem for math all these while and she did abacus lesson and pass the test as well. After reviewing with her, it was found that she doesn’t understand the word ‘total’ means? And she doesn’t understand what is meant by "how many left?". She claimed that teacher asked her to read more with parents, which sheis alalready avid reader. The lesson that I learnt from all this is, don’t leave things to school and kid, by assuming she knows what she do in her homework. Daily practice and exercise still essential to make sure she did understand the whole concept. It will get her more prepared for next learning steps.

just get to know from DD that Japanese food stall in school is closed?! there is only left with Chinese food stall and Malay food stall in canteen. There are so limited of choice for food. For those whose kids are in Pro-teach after school care, do you know what they normally had for lunch? DD told me that she had spaghetti from Malay Food Stall today, and it is just spaghetti with sauce, without any other ingredient like meat, egg, etc. Guess I got to start making lunch box for her again 😞

When I picked up my DD on Monday around 3pm, I saw the sleeping bags on classroom floor… The room that nearest to school foyer. Pro-teach staff did told me that if there is homework and spelling, nap time will be cut down.

My DD take shower at school everyday before changing into pro teach uniform. She told me that there is only 2 kids taking shower. The school toilet even has hot water shower (only one room), the rest are with cold water . There is no complaint that she miss rest of activities due to taking extra time for shower, so I plan to keep as it is.

For my DD, I got the barbie wallet from NTUC. At the end of each day, we will take the remain money and put in her save bank. Want to let her start the saving habit; at the same time easier for me to keep track her daily spending.

Her timetable was pretty straight forward, stated when is CCE and PAL timing. I’m so glad to see a note from her Chinese teacher, Mr. Tay, giving his email contact, so that parent-teacher can communicate better. Hopefully she will like mandarin, as much as she like English later.

Experienced parent, can help to advise on what to pack in bag for coming Monday? Just follow subject in timetable given, and throw all things inside. When do they need the white board and marker?

As for student care, it is really scary to see less than 10 student left when I picked my DD around 6.10pm on last Friday. Can imagine if I were those left, less than 5, around 6.20pm. How can we communicate to school to extend the school opening hour to 7pm? Through phone call to school office? Or any email contact?
