    • RE: All About Supplements for Children

I don’t see anything wrong with giving supplements to children as long as you know its limitations. Giving way too much can be dangerous so better go easy on it. I think coupled with a balanced diet, children can be at their healthiest.

    • RE: Are Singapore students too stressed out?

Hmmm…I think it depends on the mindset of the child. School can really be a source of stress for students, that’s a fact. But I think if they are given ample time to relax and unwind, it could serve as an outlet to relieve all the stress they feel. Maybe play video games or surf the net for 1-2 hours after homework is finished, a trip to the arcade for the weekend, etc.

    • RE: All About Full-Time Maids

I think having a hired help can benefit some families, especially those with parents who are both working. However, it is sop to do a sort-of background check and interview to make sure you’ll click. You’ll be seeing each other everyday so having a harmonious relationship is crucial.

    • RE: All About Bullying

This is inexcusable. How can you serve as an anti-bullying model for your kid when you yourself are? And to slap a 9-year old? Ugh...

    • RE: All About Working With Children Who Are Weak Academically

Aside from tutorials, I think once children learn how to manage their time, they’ll improve not just academically, but in everything they do. I believe focus and concentration on the task at hand will help boost their abilities and eventually, excel in their academics.

\"We cater to our children with help too quickly.\" We have to stop rescuing them all the time but admit it, we cannot stop this old habits because it melts our hearts whenever we see our kids cry 😂

    • RE: Lack of Sleep among S'pore Kids - pls share your views

I am lazy to read the previous post, and not too sure if this is already posted.

Well this is official scientific stuff.

When we reach our teens - around 12 years old to 18… somehow, our biological clock tends to shift. And many teens will have difficulty if they are put to bed early. Also, due to this strange biological clock shift, teens will have difficulty waking up early in the morning… This symptom will last until the teens reach their 20s and the biological clock will shift back to normal.

this is why there are many actives trying to encourage schools to adjust their timing.

A good advice to parents is to provide your child with proper meal at the correct timing. As our biological clocks follows the timing of the meals we eat, having breakfast in the morning helps the body to "be notified" that this is morning time. Well, I did afew research on body clocks, hope to share with all when i could recall more stuff.

    • RE: How to become an officer?

For OCS course, they will look at everything from a person's fitness, to attitude during BMT. everyone will be access and 'graded' by their officers and peers as well. Those who mange to pass their IPPT before enlistment and at enhance batch will get higher priority.. Anyway, the secret to all leadership is to be a natural leader. Not a garang person.. good luck
