    • RE: Chongfu Primary

Hi all parents of ChongFu Pri.

My boy is now still far from Pri 1 but we have got a BTO flat at Yishun and by the time we move in, it should be able time I start enrolling him for primary school.

I have heard ChongFu is the better school in this neighbourhood. I have some concerns and they are, (1) my hubby and I are not Singapore Hokkien Huay Kwan (SHHK) members. Will this affect my son's priority? (2) How do you guys managed to enroll your little ones in ChongFu?? (3) Is this school, to you, really good in academic and CCA?

Thanks to all who reply *take a bow* :thankyou:

Hi Scary, may I ask what is a GEP school?

GEP = Gifted Education Programme. It's for selected students from P4-P6. The programme is run in 9 centres.

Dear jtoh, thanks for the headsup. I have so much to learn.... :slapshead:

      Scary:
Nan Hua is GEP school. So their results may be highly dependent on these students. Putting all GEP students aside, what was the highest score for the past few yrs?

The above I believe applies to all GEP schools, not forgetting that 2010 top PSLE student from Rosyth was from the GEP. We definitely expect GEP students to perform better.

I will be more keen to know the highest marks of the non-GEP cohort in the GEP schools. However, I think quite difficult to get this information.

Personally, I think will be good if can get into a non-GEP but still popular and good school.

O ya. I asked colleagues and they also mentioned ChongFu is affillated with an association or something. And they also mentioned Northland Pri has becoming quite good now due to a principle transferred over from a good school?

Understand Chong Fu is a school which drills students in Maths.

Wow. Thanks php and Janet for the good advise. I will check out Nan Hua and ChongFu. 😄

Understand Chong Fu is hard to get in and is under the Huay Kuan association.
