6 months should be enough for gals, not to fight and dig trenches but to learn how to operate a gun, basic self defence, do first aid, learn nursing knowledge etc. Those who want to do full comba opt for that.

I can be imagine a lot of young single NS men would be very motivated to have women medics when out in the field.

From a man's perspective...

Find a smart intelligent woman to love, to marry and is willing to bear your child/children.

• RE: How to save electricity?

Personally, the ceiling fan provides one of the best electricity savings. They also come in all sort of designs, sizes and prices to suit different needs.

I used to live an aircon lifestyle. But now, I enjoy more of the fresh of air, sunny afternoon breeze, and cool night winds - under the gentle quiet breath of ceiling fans.

Of course, if you stay next to an expressway, busy road/street or needs the privacy of a closed/curtained window - aircon becomes a necessity.

.... when our pc stop working last month after accidently splashed by water i asked my dd to lay hand on the pc n pray together with me for it to be restored n it did restored soon after we prayed n working perfectly ok until now.
I don't know which part of PC was splashed with water ... but from engineering perspective, it would be prudent to:

1) remove the source of electrical power BEFORE laying any hand(s) on the PC, and
2) with power unplugged, ensure all visible water has been removed, and
3) wait a couple of days for residual water to evaporate before plugging power in and turning on PC. (if in doubt wait a week)

Having faith in religion is one thing, but I hope you have taken precautionary steps for basic safety.

Daddy 😧
The 2nd vid... Saw a little.... Why must cry one? Kinda traumatizing....

:yikes:
I personally think the session / camp in the 2 videos are too much for kids.
The crying and ultra emo expressions... what's that all about?

I wonder if my child/children will feel that strongly for me/wife over the many sacrifices we have made for them.

Since we are discussing charismatic evangelical theology here too, what do parents think of these below videos of a session conducted by Becky Fisher of Jesus Camp fame?

Would you send your kids for these kind of sess ions?

Would you highlight what is wrong with these video?

I would NOT like to earnestly volunteer to be the \"dead person\".
I would NOT encourage my beloved family to gleefully volunteer to be dead too.
Less enviable health conditions like decapitated limbs (or head), multiple stab wounds, full body 3rd degree burns and being run over/dragged over several km by a 18 wheeler ... is not preferred as well.

... unless its to act in the Avengers Movie & be paid like Robert D.Junior to be (almost) dead in an oh-so-cool battle-worn ironman suit.

Hmm.. 'head of household' is not head of church / temple / mosque.. It's the Top Guy up there.

God is portrayed as vicious and wrathful in the old testament but he is full of love in new testament.

Pardon my ignorance....

Why is GOD portrayed diffferently in the old and new? Is either one of them less than accurate?

In many religions where the word of the Omnipotent(s) are written by man, interpreted by man, translated by man, rewritten, reinterpreted and retranslated by man over thousands of years across different versions ... I see single religions broken up into multiple demoninations, some with vastly different core beliefs and practises.

Makes me wonder if these written words are more of a guideline than hard rules and regulations to be adhered to word for word.

What is the message all about ? Can share the gist of it?

Prosperity preaching. You have to hear it to (dis)believe it.

If I very free, go to CHC every week and at the end of it all - remain thick skin/thick headed, unmoved, don't tith, and pose a lot of questions on their interpretations of the bible.

... wonder what will happen to me? Kenna kick out?

My 5-year old nephew recently told my mum, \"Por por, you can't go to Heaven because you don't go to church.\" My mum wasn't offended, but was sad that he's 'brainwashed' at such young age. In my mum's simple and uneducated mind, kids should be given a chance to learn and be exposed to different religions before they make their own decision at a later stage. I totally agree.

Thanks for sharing this, patagonia. My son also came back from school one day, asking me this question, \"Mummy, xxx said that if I am not a Christian, I will go to hell, is that true?\"

My answer to him was,\"Just be good, and do good deeds, be the best you can, and not to cause hurt or harm to others. When your time comes, whether you go to hell or go to heaven, it is for God to decide. We are still living on earth, so live your life well, don't be too overly concerned about these things.\"

He liked my answer and went away happily. Frankly, I was also caught off guard with that question, and it was the best I could come up with on the spot. Guess that's what I think unconsciously.

:goodpost:
I also believe in being as decent/good a person as one can be.

But what the definition of Good, decent? Have an open mind and read widely on different religions and schools of thought (eg. readings from Lao zhi)...
