I have bought the emu oil online, and my daughter has started using it. Will keep u all updated if it helps in solving her eczema problem at her arm area (since young).
Have seen doc, used cortisol (steroid) cream before, but the eczema keeps coming back after a while.

RE: Dental Braces
its888me:
Check online for dental clinics near ur area. Best to find nearby clinic as to save time on travelling. Average will be one visit for every 1 mth to 2 mths. Can someone recommend any good and reasonable priced orthodontics in NE area?
Do the orthodontics need to be near to home? Will there be frequent visit? Is it worth to go for discounted rate at government hospital?
What age is suitable for the braces? I seem to hear different views. I was advised to delay until all the permanent teeth are out.... is that correct?
So sorry so the string of questions. TIA!
Have checked before gov hospital, understand long queue for appointments, and prices is actually not much cheaper (avg ~4K). Therefore faster to see a private one near ur place.
Teenagers are suitable for braces aldy, so dont worry, the ortho will advise also. -

Hello.. my daughter is fr Meridian Pri (our Blk next to it).
We are from PR too, great to know there is another PR resident
We will be taking bus 81 to Serangoon station ==> Dakota ==> bus. BUT maybe we can car pool??
My wife & DD tried yesterday taking bus 359 ==> PR MRT ==>Paya Lebar MRT ==> Dakota MRT ==> bus to TKSS (~50mins). We will allow ~1hour for this journey.
As for bus 81 to Serangoon, understand it could be longer journey with the morning traffic jam, that's y not recommended. Have u tried this route/how long will it take?
Can consider car pool, as I ll b sending her temp for few days also. Hv also plan with a friend (who has daughter studying at Chung Cheng) to carpool.
Look forward to exchange info with all parents here. So ngam few of us all in same group7/class 1G. -

Any parents with child in class 1g?
My daughter will b in 1G.
My son was allocated to Group 7 on the registration day. Are they arrange the class by T-score?
My son was also in group 7 which is class 1g. I dont think they arranged the class by t score. My son's ex classmate having lower t score than him is in another class which is in front of his class. My son t score is 239. How about your girl and son? Stitchy and leessang.
Hello all,
My daughter is in the same Group 7 (1G?) as well. First time for us at TKSS during the registration. Look forward to share more information with all. We plan to join their CCA Day, and the TK1 night to know more about the school.
We live in Pasir Ris. Not sure which route shd b shortest time :-
(1) Pasir Ris MRT ==> Paya Lebar MRT ==> take bus to Tg Katong Rd (but hv to walk further)
(2) Pasir Ris MRT ==> Paya Lebar MRT ==> Dakota ==> Take bus to TKSS (side gate).
We spoke to a few students, they mentioned the time used to travel by bus fr Paya Lebar MRT to TG Katong Rd, and walk to TKSS, is almost the same with Paya Lebar MRT transfer to Dakota and take bus to TKSS.
Maybe should also try out another route :-
(3) Take bus fr Pasir Ris to Serangoon MRT ==> to Dakota ==> bus to TKSS. Will try and see if the time will b shorter. -

Hi has anyone try to write an appeal to Sota? How high is the chances like?
No harm to try.. not sure if anyone managed to get in after appeal..
My son was on Waiting List, but managed to get in after PSLE result was out (same day get the confirmation letter when you collect the PSLE result from school).
For current parents of SOTA students' parents, there is a Facebook page now for SPA (Sota Parents Association).. feel free to join this closed group.

The students went ahead coz the instructors told them to do so. This is so not right. Dead fishes are bad, but cockroaches!!!!! They carry all sort of diseases and the kids are expected to do a capsize drill where they are turned underwater amidst the dead carcasses.
Seriously??? Haha.. my son got his worst sunburn on his face.. black/dark with skin peeling off now... but they enjoyed the kayaking.. good experience for them. Today they are on a museum visit? What a great way to start their year..

Hi Melissa,Hey everybody I'm new to this forum and also a new member. Anyways I need to ask (hopefully) parents of girls or the girls in sota dance, esp if they are a transfer student via ballet not ballroom Chinese dance etc. I am going to audition next march cos I'm yr 2, which means that I'll wish to transfer to sota in year 3. Ok I've got a few questions here and whoever can answer them thanks in advance!!
1. What is the success rate in general for transfer students via ballet?
2.what is Sota looking for in a potential ballet student? Is the body shape taken into consideration and technique?etc
3.ive heard that some transfer cases have to repeat a year or two. Is it possible not to in yr 3?
4. Idk but I'm only grade 6/ interfound standard. During the audition will my standards be pitted against the p6s since I'll be auditioning with them or will I be taken aside for a private audition and given a different set of more difficult exercises?
5. Is It true only the very strong dance students get loads of opportunities like performing of stage and going overseas for exchange programmes while the average dancer does not?
6. How long will the audition be(30min-1hr? Excluding modern) and what should I expect- barre/ centre?
Although I cannt help much on your questions (as my son is in music faculty), I think you should try your best for the audition. Dont worry too much on what the examiners will test on you, just focus, be yourself and do your best!
Maybe there is some Dance Faculty parents can advise here..
