Ninja Turtle:Good luck to you magic8ball.. I'll see you on the 7th. I'm sure you'll be fine.
Same here - we'll both have daughters going to the same school!

sglady:Hmm, I guess more applicants decided to try SCGS after reading what P1mummy has written on her posts.
Gan Chiong Mummy:Hi i was there too so tense!!! Like share market!
Saki:magic8ball:[quote=\"becknat68\"]updates as at 11am :
SCGS : 29 seats, 46 SC within 1KM
RGPS : 42 seats, 48 SC , 37 within 1KM, 2 1-2KM, 9 outside 2KM
SMPS : 101 seats, 87 SCs, no breakdown of distance available
SMPS: 87 SCs, of which 43 outside 2km.
Let's look at the bigger picture. We just want our girls to get into school. At this rate, the will be more disappointed families if people don't withdraw from scgs and switch to smps. If things stay status quo, there will be 17 disappointments (46-29). If parents realize this, some should actually switch to smps so the number of disappointments are minimized. 14 seats left at smps, if 15 switch to smps, it would force a ballot at smps for those outside of 2km, chances would be 101-(87-43)=57 spaces for of 58 (43+15) applicants. for scgs, it would be 29 of 31. Disappontments -maximum 3, and possibly only two as all who switch could get seats.
But as it stands, 17 will definitely be disappointed at scgs.
Look at the big picture.

yes, I meant St Margaret’s
SMGS is also a viable choice for parents who don’t want to go through balloting. If ballot fails, there’s a high chance that there won’t even be spaces in smgs for P2C(S).
RGPS 38 registered - increase by 3 from yesterday. 32 within 1km, 1 btw 1-2km, 5 outside 2km. All sc.
SMGS 98 registered in total. 73 are sc. 34 sc outside 2km.
NYPS I heard another 25 applied today.
Scary:In my personal opinion, I don't think there will be a chance for Nanyang and MGS if one doesn't stay within 2km. It's already very risky if one stays between 1-2km.
Saki::goodpost:tomorrow first thing in the morning, call up Nanyang, MGS, RGPS get first hand info on distance break down and zoom in on # of SC. Ignore PR as they have to queue over the other side, wait until the last SC > 2km has got in, only then can they start charging in (if ever this can happen).phtthp:[quote=\"magic8ball\"]Attention all SCGS aspirants!
Don't only look at smgs as alternative.
RGPS, NYPS, MGS all still have spaces! There's still a chance of no ballot if you live outside of 2km.
