Hi!
I am 13 years old, going to be 14 years old next year... I want to start learning music (It is quite sad that I am not even grade 1 at this age) and I wonder what music school is suitable for me to start learning at this age. By the way, can i learn the practical exam and theory exam through the not-so-common instruments like dizi, clarinet or flute? (I saw this music school called the Ossia Music School. Is the school fee expensive? I cant find the cost of the courses in the website...)

RE: Secondary School Third Languages
bluecosmos:
Hi is it possible for me to take third language now? I am secondary one this year and the year is endingHi everyone,
I'm a language teacher myself, and I think you should definately take it if you are offered the third language. Some people mentioned the cost of books, but the MOELC lessons are basically free of charge. You can check how much the language schools in town charge for foreign language lessons, and many of them are not even conducted by qualified and experienced teachers. And the mastery of the language depends a lot on your age. The younger, the better of course. Even if you want to retry later, your memory will not be as good. The only concern is managing your time as the secondary school workload is really hectic. But even if you drop it halfway, you can probably gain the foundation of the language, which will save a lot of time and effort for your future learning. Many people regret not having learnt the foreign languages when young. Personally, I hope MOELC introduce more relaxed course as the current syllabus seems to prepare students to go to the Japanese/French/German universities, which is not very realistic for most of the students.
Anyway, I forgotten to choose my third language when I was choosing secondary schools in Primary 6 :stupid: . But I really want to take third language. Can I like join a third language in secondary 2 and take 'O' level with my cohort?

I'm not so sure of what you want to know exactly but I try my best to explain as much as I can.Hi Magical2Power,
Glad that finally someone care to respond. Maybe u can share more abt the programmes that u r currently doing. Teachers : students ratio. Stressful or not in terms of studies. Thanks for sharing..
So basically, there are 3 IP classes and each class has 27 students except for one class which is 26. Hence, for each lesson, a teacher would come into the class and teach. I guess that's the ratio you want. For the Integrated Programme, we have electives. Each student must choose to take at least 1 elective. One elective only last for one term so if you did not get chosen for a particular elective for a term, you can try again next term, as long as you manage to attend at least one elective. Those who have taken elective can choose to take elective again the next term if they are interested.
In the Integrated Programme, we have more group work (For example, graded assignments, performance task, in lessons etc.), which means more presentation. If you are worrying for that, don't worry!
We will eventually develop our presentation skills as we get to present more. Also, we need to learn to work well with our group members. We also need to learn how to cope with independent learning by ourselves. (As we do not have much assessments books in bookstores as you might have realised, so we need to learn by ourselves) Of course, that does not mean that we cannot ask the teachers when in doubt.
I'm sorry but my exams are coming this Thursday. I need to revise so I cannot talk much more but basically that is the IP programme. I will try to come back later after my exams.

IP exam papers, assessments books and external textbooks.
Where can I buy IP exam papers, assessments books and external textbooks? I need them badly as I need to study for my coming End-Of-Year-Examinations. I need to score well so that I can be promoted to Year 2 as every year we have a certain criteria that we need to achieve to be promoted to the next year and continue in IP stream. If we failed the criteria, I will get into the 'O' level stream next year instead of the IP stream. And by the way, I cannot ask my seniors for help because i am in the first batch of IP. My school started IP only this year. (P.S. I guess you all know my school already since there's only 2 schools who have both IP and 'O' Level stream - Cedar Girls' Secondary School and Victoria School. I am girl so... you know what school and year I am in already. :siam: )

VisualTextEducation:
Hi, Do you have any Integrated Programme (IP) exam papers? I had been searching for papers that is for Integrated Programme but I cannot find it anywhere.I've replied!
Guys, if you do need any papers from me. It would really help if you can let me know these details:
1) Subject
2) Level
3) Stream (Exp/NA/NT)
4) Topic (if you want topical WS)
5) SA1 or SA2 Papers (you you need the exam papers instead)
6) School that your DD/DS is studying in so that I can peg and customise the WS a bit for you
Things like ' I need sec 1 science papers' don't really help cause I dunno whether i should send you exp/NA/NT, phy/chem/bio, topical/SA1/SA2 papers. LOL. Hope you all can get my point. I want to help, but you have to let me know more details!! The more details the better. ok?
