Just went for the Parent Teachers' Meeting last Friday.

Saw that the for Sec 1 Posting 2017 Express, highest score from feeder school was 247 and the range for Non-Feeder 241 – 248.

I am quite impressed that this has come up quite a bit; more impressed is the boy from feeder school who got 247 and chose Barker. Anyone know who this boy is and why he chose Barker when his score puts him in the top 10% of Express students in ACS (I)?

Hopefully, the ACS I used to know where kids from mixed abilities come together will be resurrected again and ACS Barker will once again provide the education Bishop Oldham envisioned ACS.

I think the main reason would be location and perhaps cost. Although in his case, if the point for being in a feeder school was so that he could have a better chance of entering acs (i), then it doesn't quite make sense. Because the COP for non-feeder is 250, so he wouldn't have made it if not for his affiliation.

Well, it'll still be Express for him in ACSI...for some, it doesn't make sense to travel further and pay (a lot) more and end up still doing O level.
The other reason could be that his friends mostly chose acs(br) and he wanted to stick with them.

I would say minimum 6 GB. You can add on 3gb for Starhub postpaid for like $6 extra per month. 1 GB per month is tantamount to torture.

Registration on LMS is not possible

Login under parents using child’s BC no and "parents" as default password.

      National 2016 IB results

Likely going to be another record for acs (i) again.

So does anyone know what is to be brought on the first day 3 Jan ? It says on the booklet that the first part is class allocation, after which would be lessons according to timetable. That doesn't mean anything to me since i don't have any timetable. Do books need to be brought on the first day? It is also unclear whether the tie is supposed to be worn with the badge or not on the first day!

Tie and badge to be worn every single school day!!!

This is patently untrue as clearly on Fridays, no tie or badge is necessary. Students also would not be penalized for not wearing a tie on the first day. As for the badge, i believe the students start wearing it after the badge ceremony on the 9th.

Anyone's son in the IP classes would like to share the class size? I'm quite surprised that his class has at least 34 kids (he's not very sure, but the that's the highest index no he heard). I was under the impression that the size is between 25-30 for IP classes.

I also noticed asterisks next to some subjects in the timetable. Anyone knows what that means?

Ya me too thought IP should be about 25 kids, but RV seems to have a bigger class cohort size. Not sure if this the same each year or a bumper crop this year only...

Classes are able to accommodate that amount till section J. I do remember principal telling during open house that they take about 400 kids for Sec 1. If we use 35 per class for 10 sections, it comes to 350 kids. For RV highly possible scenario.

I did hear some IP school intake is half of this number

Might be consolidation due to falling intake overall nationally because even my son's ACS(I) IP (IB) class has about 34 students as well which is weird because based on past comments in the ACS (I) thread, it should be closer to 25-30.
Just now in a rush at HCI....only got books and uniforms, but what about badge, name tags, shoes and socks?? Just books and uniforms (plus PE attire) already spent more than 300, good that in HCI, both the bookstores by Popular and uniforms supplier accepts credit cards.

HCI's school badge is to be purchased at the bookstore. No name tags required. Socks are normal white school socks (ankle socks not allowed) and shoes can be track shoes, as long as 70% is white, dark blue or black. No neon coloured markings.

Same rule applied for ACS (I). It's very difficult to get sports / track shoes with 70% white these days. Unless you go for canvas or school shoes. Any body managed to find any good ones? Searched IMM & Vivo yesterday. Couldn't find any suitable ones.
it doesn't seem that 70% white rule is strictly enforced, in school videos and pictures i see kids with shoes much less than 70% requirement, at least from acs i. So it may be more strictly enforced in some schools and less in others.
