Hi Blessed homemaker, did you book a book a driver for airport transfer? Can you share the contact if he is good? And charges?
Thanks. -

Thank you so much for the info.Mamo:
My family of 4 is going to Taipei in Nov. Can someone recommend a driver for a day tour to Yeliu, Jiufen and Shifen? Also is it better to stay near Taipei Main Station or Ximengding? Thanks.
Yes, it very easy to get cab drivers to these places you mentioned as they will be around the hotel area waiting for tourists. Just ask them to quote you.
Do you need any hotel recommendations?
For Taipei Main Station, heard that Cosmo is good.
For XMD, I stayed in Via Hotel before and have friends who recommended Amba hotel. -

Actually there are many taxi drivers who can bring you around. So just ask them if they provide such service or have friends to recommend when you take a taxi.
Ximending is more happening at night so before going back hotel still can roam ximending. You can check http://www.wego.com.sg/hotels/taiwan/taipei/district/ximending-4071 or agoda for the hotels -

RE: Travel: Thailand - Bangkok
Thanks. It really seems cheaper to book there than online.

Hi Chloecube,
Did your children enjoy the trip? I am going in June and can’t decide whether to bring them to Kanchanaburi or the crocodile/elephant show.

RE: washing machine?
Funz:
Hi Funz,I just replaced my Fisher & Paykel washer last Saturday with a Panasonic washer. Been using the old washer for close to 10 yrs oredi. No repairs needed no issues but finally konked on Friday. Thought a repair will likely cost close to a new washer so did not bother with repair went out and got a new one.
The Panasonic washer is suppose to consume 50% less energy and water and is 20% quieter. So far, it is very quiet. As for water and energy consumption, can only see after a few months.
I did away with our dryer as well when it konked last year. Did not replace with another and my energy consumption went down immediately. Figured since I have a helper and we have a garden, there is no real need for a dryer. It is still best to dry our clothes under the sun.
So how's the Panasonic washer so far?
