Yes. If the kid is smart and bright, he/she will sure excel in any school. We parent just want to do our best to give them a good start. Just to share: My colleague’s sister was from a normal neighbourhood school. She did well in PSLE and went into Nanyang Girls. She did so well that she is a harvard graduate. Family not very well to do, her education fee was supported by bursary and sponsorship. See She can do so well without a good environment to start with too.

      Hi all

As a parent, we will do our utmost best for our children given our best knowledge, circumstance and pressure we faced at the point decision is made. Having said that, we also cannot be 100% sure win and there are things beyond our control. While I empathised with those 17 parents 1 - 2km registered with AT, the last min registrants are not wrong too. They are parents and would like to do the utmost best for their children. Moreover, they complied with the rules.

No system is perfect in this world and we just have to accept the outcome esp we know we have done our best for our children. I also want to get a preferred school.for my children (btw, I m gg to ballot next wed). I just tell myself, this is just P1 registration only. Long way to go and there would be more other issues for us parent to worry as our children grow. Not the end of the world if we did not get the preferred school.

Congrats to those who are successful in the balloting. And, for those who did not manage to get into the preferred school, do not be despaired. You have done for your best for your DD/DS. Cheer up ok!

My turn to register next week - Phase 2C. I have been feeling the anxiety since the start of the P1 registration and have been following up closely with the MOE registration result and this forum.

Would like to seek all advice: I am within one km away from St Hilda & Poi Ching. Wondering which school would I register. As you all are aware, ST Hilda is always popular and Balloting is required for within 1km. Not sure if I shld try my luck. If fail, I will lose the chance to get into POi Ching which is also a good sch. Based on the historical statistics provided in this forum, balloting for Poi Ching likely for 1-2km. Correct me if I am wrong. Furthermore, no competition from Malays and Indians.

Hubbs and I intend to station at ST Hilda n POi Ching to assess the registration rate on the last day of registration for phase 2c but wondering if there is a need too. Hmmm. Or I should go straight to Poi Ching which is assessed to give me less stress in the P1 registration as compared to St Hildas.

      Appreciate advice!
