Liangbrolovesoccer:Hi, Is it stated in MOE website (do you have the link?) that deduction of 2 pts from JC affiliation is only applicable if there is no deduction of 2 pts from HMT.deardear07:does zhss have any affiliation to any JC?
No it isnt affiliated to any other schools. The nearest JC, Nanyang JC, is linked with the 2 Chung Cheng schools. :nosebleed:
JC affiliation is 2 bonus pts off L1R5 and only applies if u dun hav HMT and only have 1/2 bonus pts fm CCA, maximum only can deduct 4 pts with additional 2 if take CLEP (the 语特 thing, but dont anyhow use coz its quite demanding for Chinese std).

Hi Mummyboo,
Personally I feel that those on WL is high chance. Not sure about RI but I know NYGH as long as you are placed on waiting which was 50 last year, I heard all got through.monmon31:
Hi ,
If one gets a WL from RI, is it as good as not getting anything ? I mean better off at trying hard for PSLE to get in via T score ..any advice?
Does school disclose the number of candidate they applied, shortlisted, on CO, on WL and rejected? -
RE: Comparing English Enrichment Programmes
My girl is in P5 now. Had been in learning lab since P2. Her results cant move into 80s. We decided to stop beginning of this year as she did not like learning lab. According to her, the standard is too high. This year, she had her SA1, CA2 and SA2 without tuition and still in the region of mid 70s. I guess their material is not suitable for her. However, she loves Learning Lab Science. At P3, she was in the region of 60s for her science, (in the region of 40s in Learning lab class test) but had been progressing into band 1 or A since then. Now, I am now looking for other English enrichment class that is more suitable for her. Any recommendation?

RE: [Toa Payoh] Primary Schools
mom76:
Not very sure about Kheng Cheng but it is definitely easier to get in than Pei Chun!Mermaid:
Hi,
I've read through the thread and found questions of parents asking on Kheng Cheng's performance. However, there no replies. My in laws are staying right in front of Kheng Cheng and by using their address, I presume it will be easier to get into Kheng Cheng than Pei Chun, even though we will still be under phase 2C 1km-2km for both schools.
Does anyone know about Kheng Cheng?
Hi, does anyone have any feedback on Kheng Cheng school? I went to the website and found out the top scorer for 2008 PSLE was 272 and 5th scorer was 258. I understand from the neighbours that the school had improved over the last few years ever since a change of the school principle. I like the one session schooling that Kheng Cheng can offer. If not, I will go ahead to choose Yangzheng Pri at Serangoon which is within 1km from my house.
Can anyone who has info or experience with Kheng Cheng school share with me? Or has anyone done any comparison between Kheng Cheng and Yangzheng at Serangoon? -
RE: Mummy Mermaid: Harlo
Hahaha… Thanks all for the warm welcome.
Yes, my 2 girls love princess characters. They ran after the princesses for autographs when we were in Hong Kong Disneyland… The younger one (3.5 yrs) basically went berserk when she saw her favorite idols. -
RE: [Serangoon] Primary Schools
Thanks Mama Ping and Cartier,
Really appreciate your advice. Yes, I agree with you fully, Cartier. I don’t come from a branded primary or sec school too but I find myself at a higher end in terms of career compared to most of my University mates.
By the way, I have set Yangzheng as my first choice. However, I would also like to identify my second choice in case (touch wood).
Does anyone have any feedback on Kheng Cheng Pri school (behind my in law’s house) or Zhong Hua Pri school? I went to website of Kheng Cheng, surprisingly, their top scorer was 272. -
RE: [Serangoon] Primary Schools
Hi Mama Ping,
Thanks PV = Parent volunteer, I learnt this from this forum.
Thanks for your valuable info. I guess I will just go for Yangzheng, it will be a better bet cos I believe I live within 1km. (Checking with the school on my address now).
We had lots of stress recently as my daughter wanted to be in the same school as her cousins who are in Pei Chun, so as my in-laws. But, we missed the PV application in 2008 Mar. I was informed that the closing date was May 2008 but when I called in Mar08, there were no more availability left. I thot I should have been more Kiasu…however, later on, we hesitated to put her in Pei Chun after seeing the results of her 2 cousins in P3 and P5. Their results really pull down their confidence level by alot. I would prefer to enrol my girl in an OK school, so that she can excel with her upmost potential and at the same time build up confidence level, I guess that is what is the most important in life. -
RE: [Serangoon] Primary Schools
Hi mama ping,

RE: [Serangoon] Primary Schools
mama Ping:
For me, I more prefer YangZheng as I checked the Top Primary School in Kiasu Parents Forums, YangZheng was voted 3 stars For the Top PSLE results, 反之 CHIJ OLN was only voted 1 star, but my husband insisted our daughter studied in Girls School, and 1 more thing, My husband told me he had ever seen few times one student is wearing St Gabriel's uniform stolel things in Supermarket or minimart in Serangoon.
Hi mama Ping,
We have not decided where to register my girl. I am staying near serangoon area and passed by Yangzheng one day. Saw alot of banners on achievements. Today, I read yr post. Just wondering if you or any kiasu parent did any reseach on this school? I am deciding if I want to register in Pei Chun under phase 2C (1-2km) under my in law's add or schools in Serangoon. Hope you could share with me if you have any inputs on Yangzheng or any \"ok\" schools in Serangoon that we get in easily under phase 2C <1km. -
