Hi, I’d like to call on parents or parents-to-be of LV@NTU to be cautious about moving into the new centre recently. I’m currently a parent there. Some parents including me observed that the newly built centre has a lot potential safety hazards. Despite all the negotiation and communication LV still insists to rush into a relocation soon. If you are also a parent there or planning to enrol your kid in the future, please PM me you email address and I’ll add you to a parent group mail list that we use to update the relative matters.

Thank you for your message. I would like to assure you that I am not a teacher/ staff member. I am a parent of a student at West Spring Primary. I am very proud of the school and enjoy complimenting the school on their efforts and hard work. Nobody is trying to restrict anyone from using this forum. The school were the first to start replying to members and updating information from the very beginning.

Glad that you are pleased with the school. The school must have done something right to deserve your ardent support.

Having said that, this is public forum. Please be mindful of the way you phrase your points. You may not find anything wrong with your posts, but you cannot assume everyone thinks like you. The response you have seen so far is testament to this point.

There have been many members of this forum asking the school questions and waiting for a response. Some are upset that there is no reply from the school. Myself and other parents are only reminding members that for any questions/ concerns that need an answer from the school should be directed to MConline.

The onus is on the school to convey this message to parents. Let the school remind parents on this matter. In fact, the school still posts here. There is nothing to stop the school from making any official stand here.

However, if parents choose to ask questions here, they should be allowed to do so. It won't be surprising if these parents are, in fact, looking for \"unofficial\" information. These parents should know that KSP.com is not official channel to communicate with the school.

I know tenko is a parent, not a staff although I think it's a good thing to see negative comments here. His effort here to help other parents should be appreciated and sometimes he is just being too nice. And my guess is that as a lot people especially WSP know who he is, he can't comment as an anonymous anymore :wrongmove:

Reference to the 30th JIC , runner up was CSC, Chinese Swimming Club and the good news is that effective Jan 2015, they hv now engage David Lim the head coach of SAC as their new Technical Director

I'm sure they re very happy to hv him on board to revamp their whole training program, etc , sharing the same vision as them, to train our own local swimmers to be world class swimmers of this generation.

Well I don’t think it’s necessary for WSP to shut off their parents here. Attention is a good sign of popularity. As a great school,they should be confident enough to handle any friendly or unfriendly comments on a public forum. And any wise potential parent shall have the commensence not to judge a school only based on partially negative comments. Forum works mainly because people are allowed to communicate freely and only good communication will give good information, which will eventually benefit every user of the forum. From the school side, it’s really not usual and even a bit inappropriate to communicate on a public forum. We do appreciate their effort. I guess they should just figure out a better way to communicate with and engage potential parents and stop communicating with existing parents here. Parents won’t have any problem to use here as the a parents only site for communication and I belive this is the major function for this forum instead of a recruitment platform.

Being able to handle nagetive feedback with an open attitude serves as a better public image than being anti-democratic. There will be issues here and there for every school. The key is how to deal with them not how to hide them from public. We should talk about two sides of a coin. Maybe as Kiasuparents we tend to complain and nag more about issues that make us concerned. But I expect to see the school take every compaint as an oppertunity to improve and a good image is a sure thing to follow up with their effort automatically.

Just wish to announce that Jurong Country Club is recruiting competitive swimmers - ideally from P2 to P4.

Non-members can join as well.

They have 4 lanes allotted for the squad. There's also a few up and coming age group talent to look out in the nest few years. The Coach was a former Olympian representing China. In terms of quality, I dare say it is on par with many of the top swim clubs.

Feel free to arrange 1 or 2 trial session to see if your child is comfortable with the environment and the group.

This would be convenient for those staying in the western part of Singapore.

* Note that I am not receiving any profit or commission. My 2 kids have been training there for 3 years and I really feel it is value for $$$.
