Can we have the 2009 COP versus the 2008 COP for each school for comparison? It would be informative to find out how the perception of the schools' \"prestige\" has changed over the past year.

Done, your wish has been granted! Check 1st post. 2008 COP in red!

Thanks for this! I think you swapped RI and RGS 2008 COP. RGS was 263 and RI was 262.

For NY; does the score 263 includes HTML? meaning the COP is only 261? Kindly confirm. THANKS.

Why is the COP for NYGH 261? How about 260 for students with distinction in HMT? So for NYGH, RV and St Nic the COP includes HMT too, right?

I agree. It could be 260 plus distinction in HMT. And yes, all SAP schools COP indicated includes HMT bonus.

[quote=\"25hourmaid\"]It's 12 midnight and it's only a few hours away to the release of the PSLE posting, so let's post the 2009 cut off points here for the sake of those who need to appeal or as reference for parents with kids doing PSLE in 2010! Wonder who would be the first to post in this thread?

but yr previous posting of TKGS COP going beyond 242 is causing him \"tremenous stress\"

surging 7 point up fr 235 to 242 ??? i personally doubt so.....
TKGS is all the while a rather popular girls' sch, not only this yr.
I totally agree. TKGS has always been known to be a good school. If you check the previous years COP, it has been within the reach of 240 T-Score. Like Cedar and Crescent, TKGS has no affiliation to any primary schools, so it's fair play for everyone.

      leaving ~3,395 students spread over a 13 point range from 248 - 260.

Where do we derive this figure from ?

      3,395 was derived from 7% of 48,500

Well, any one has experience transferring to another sec school using the sec one results? I heard if attained 70% for overrall subjects, we may do so. Is it true?
I would suggest appealing to the school on the 23rd December. Don't worry about the T-Score gap from the COP. If you like the MacBook program, find a way to mention it in the appeal process. After all, it appears to be the only Secondary School in Singapore that is using MacBook.

There is a streaming process for Secondary 3 that depends entirely on the Secondary 2 results. The child needs 70% and above for Maths, Science and Overall Average, before he can opt for triple science.

    • RE: Top 10%

It seems if the child is eligible to read French, German or Japanese as a third language, he/she will be within the Top 10%. I know of a girl who has 248 and has the said option. But I have yet to hear of someone with a score of 247 that has the same entitlement.

We could get to talk to one of the teacher & they expect COP to go up , simply because last two years school was in holding site & with new facility in place, they would be back to 2006/7 cut-off 247..

That made our mood sink 😢 We left without seeing performances
Don't worry about the COP. Nobody will be able to predict the figure. Besides, there is a general perception that the T-scores this year could be lower than previous years, so the COP for most schools would correspondingly drop. There are instances in other schools where the COP could vary by as much as 5 points between 2 successive years.
